Hello,

My PC is 15 years old. Internet works via Wi-Fi with a 2.0 USB dongle connected to one of my USB ports.

This dongle refuses to work on my new PC. This new PC has an Ethernet port. A question from a novice: Do I need a Wi-Fi dongle that connects to the Ethernet port?

Thank you in advance.

Configuration: Windows XP / Internet Explorer 7.0

Hello,
Your wifi key works because it is recognized on your XP operating system as it has the correct drivers.
Your new PC probably has an integrated wifi system, we'll see.
Otherwise, you need to find the drivers to set up your key on your new PC with whatever operating system it has, for example, Seven or "8".
Please provide a bit more explanation about all this:
- Key model type reference?
- New PC what operating system?
The Ethernet port is used to connect a RJ45 type cable directly to the box.
Looking forward to your response for more info.

Hello Gandbi,

thank you for your preliminary response.

So, my key: Sagem FCC ID M4Y XG 760 A

My new PC: Windows 7 Intel Pentium - Pent G640T 4GB 1TB

For the drivers: how can I find the codes? (I have the diskette linked to the key.)

Best regards, null.

Your new PC, which I will call "Seven," does not have the drivers for this Wi-Fi key; you just need to download them here:

Hello Gandbi
Following your response below, I have a disk named Dongle WIFI Sagem that corresponds to my Wi-Fi key... Starting up without the key, starting up the CD: NOTHING!!
Furthermore, how can I type your "http" above since the internet is telling me that there is no active network!!
I think I will buy a new key with its CD!!
However, your address works well with my old computer from which I am writing to you. But there is no need to download your assistance..
At 65, it’s not easy.
Best regards.

First, the Wi-Fi must be activated on your box, but I believe it's done since it was working with your XP PC
Then, launch the software without inserting the Wi-Fi dongle; only when you receive the message will you need to insert the Wi-Fi dongle.
Of course, you will then need to enter your security key
All the info here:

And there you go...
I had the same...

Hello,
Follow these instructions:
On the link above, download the file to your XP PC, or I can provide it here:
http://assistance.orange.fr/telechargement/pilotes/drv_Wi-Fi_1.10.2.04.exe
Then insert your USB drive into your old PC and transfer this file to it, then put your USB drive on your new PC and run this program; you will just need to insert your wifi key when the software prompts you, and you will be able to use your SAGEM key on your new PC.
Then enter your WEP or WAP key number.
