I also just acquired this scanner. It's impossible to see the software's work page, except once (by miracle) and then it's over. I don't think it's the driver.
I installed the driver on an old laptop with a USB 1.1 port and it worked fine. Maybe it needs a USB 1.1 port, as I've also read on a German forum: pretty strong indeed!
But how to deal with a new PC that only knows 2.0?

I had a similar problem with this device.
After consulting the servicedesk at Medion, and after all sorts of experiments with no results, I downloaded the file "sw5_6200_eu.exe" from Microtek.
I am convinced that the Medion 90091 and Microtek S430 scanners are identical, and that the modification of the software for Medion caused issues that manifest in certain configurations, but not always.
In any case, the Microtek software works without any problems.
Maybe it's worth a try?

Like all of you, I just bought a MEDION scanner, model MD 90091, and like you, I can't use it.
After installing the driver and various programs, I restart the computer and Windows asks me to install the driver.
The first time I didn't do it.
The second time I said YES to install the driver, but it tells me it can't find the driver on the CD.
And the Scan Wizard program tells me the scanner is not ready.
I am using Windows Vista, and I have tried several USB ports just in case the first one, although new, is damaged.

Same joke with my scanner 90093, see the website medion.fr where you can download drivers and user manual in French. I did it but I don't have the program, I'm waiting for a response. You can also call 02.2006198 good luck.
I have a MD90091 scanner and I found everything (driver and the scanning software) on the Medion website for Windows at the following address
http://www1.medion.de/... but if someone knows a solution to get it working on Ubuntu ...
