PC Monitor: settings that launch automatically

Hello,

I have a very strange bug coming from my PC screen. For the past two hours, the display of the PC screen settings (the monitor's, not Windows') appears intermittently. This can last 5 times for a minute and then nothing for 30 minutes to 2 hours.

I don't know where it comes from. It doesn't interfere with the PC's operation but it blocks my view, and it's starting to become unbearable. Especially since sometimes the screen settings display goes haywire and starts selecting options on its own (brightness, etc.). Sometimes it disappears and comes back immediately.

I haven't changed anything since then, and I just restored the PC just in case... It didn't help. I only changed the graphics card after the old one died on December 15, and I hadn’t had any problems for a week and a half until this noon.

What should I do? Virus, malware, or hardware issue?

Configuration: Mozilla Firefox 17.0
Microsoft Windows Seven 64-bit Premium
Intel Core i7-2600
6GB RAM
ATI Radeon HD 7700

Finally, the problem was resolved by restarting the PC three times. So I don't know what to think. Apparently, the issue occurs right at boot; let me explain: I have a screen and a HP PC. At the HP logo on a blue background, one time out of three, the screen disconnects (the monitor displays "No SIGNAL"), and then half a second later, it shows "Factory Settings," as if the screen had a brief interruption with the PC. When it starts this way, I always have the problem with the settings appearing.

I have to reboot the PC and hope that luck is on my side. When it goes well, the screen displays right from the start without any adjustments or interruptions. Like a normal screen, really. The graphics card doesn't seem to be the cause, I repeat, because I just reinstalled it. The question now is whether it will hold out for a while with this kind of loose connection :p

I follow up, the problem is occurring again, I will let you read what I wrote earlier. I locked the OSD and the problem doesn't appear for a few minutes. Unfortunately, sometimes the message "OSD locked" pops up in the middle of the screen. I second the loose connection theory, but it’s strange that it happens to me one time out of three since my new GPU.

      Hello,

I have a similar problem, in fact when I start my PC my screen changes its settings, it switches to HDMI 1 then changes to HDMI 2 then to DP etc. very quickly as if someone were pressing all the buttons.

Just now I got disconnected and I can't take it anymore, it's a very good screen and I can't afford to buy a new one, please if someone has a solution let me know!

        Hello

Make sure the cable is securely plugged in on both the screen and the graphics card sides.
