Hello,
my battery icon has a red cross in front, even with the charger it's still showing the red cross. When I hover the mouse over the icon, it tells me to consider replacing the battery. I have a Toshiba Satellite L650 that I bought a year and a half ago. If anyone can tell me what this red cross means and how I can remove it, thank you in advance.
Configuration: Windows 7 / Chrome 23.0.1271.97

The battery icon refers to a tool for measuring the battery charge level. Since the battery is defective, the detected charge level is incorrect - even undetected - and the tool indicates this.
Changing the battery is recommended... unless you continue to run on AC power, like a desktop PC. In this case, simply ignore the battery indicator.
