Hello,

Every time I open my Canon PowerShot A510 camera, I have to reconfigure the date and time...
What is my problem???

Thank you.

Digging up the subject but a solution to the problem: Change the small battery that keeps the time and date settings. Lift the small rubber cover with the 3 connectors on the left side, gently pull on the small notch to remove the battery (CR1220), replace it, and restart. We wouldn't need customer service anymore...

    Best regards.

There is often a small battery in devices to keep the date and time and the settings set by the user in memory.

After a while, this battery doesn’t recharge anymore. Too old. Your device is 7 years old. So in my opinion, that's it.

The solution? Return to customer service. And given the age of the device, it’s not worth it.

I confirm. Change the small battery (on my PowerShot SX 20 the small battery is in the compartment for the larger batteries or rechargeable batteries)
You need good eyes, but you can clearly see the reference for the battery CR1220
No need for customer service. Just need a small battery.
      Kudos to ROuX.
      And YesYesPhoto: not cool!
