Hello,
I just got a transfer software as mentioned above. The problem is that I'm struggling to understand some operations.
Can someone on the forum help me?
With the VHS, the recording is in black and white instead of being in color (VCR to computer)
With the mini tapes (camcorder to computer), after recording the tape onto the PC, I have to burn it immediately, and as a result, I only have durations of 45 to 60 minutes per DVD;
It's always the same thing with new equipment.
Thank you in advance for your help
Best regards
S.D

For black and white, it's because you're configured in PAL instead of SECAM in the acquisition
I don't know your equipment, but normally you should be able to record a file (avi, mpeg ??) and then edit it before burning ??

Good evening
How do I change the PAL? in the transfer software? I'm watching my movie on the TV and without changing anything on the VCR, I have color; I thought this was the kind of setting I had to adjust.
There are two ways to record directly from the player to the DVD and an advanced mode, but again I have an issue because I see it in the window like with a webcam and I can't see the movie.

Video Transfer Box
Hello, to transfer the content of an analog VHS, VHS-C, 8mm, Hi8 cassette or an analog video stream, you need to connect the camcorder or VCR or other device to an "external box" that handles the conversion "hardware of the analog stream to digital" and connect the box to the computer via a USB cable. The file is converted to MPEG2, a format easy to burn and compatible with all players, with the possibility of editing with "Studio".
You connect the box and camcorder with an S/VHS recommended connection or composite (less good) (RCA yellow) and a cord for sound (2 RCA red, white). For the VCR, you need a SCART connection with an adapter or cord with the "out" direction or with an inverter in/out with S/VHS or composite RCA yellow output (less good) plus sound, two RCA red, white outputs.
Remember to select PAL for color.
I recommend the Dazzle box, either "recorder" DVD only or Platinum depending on the need.
The price of the STUDIO 14 HD software (€61) included with it makes the product interesting.
There are exotic products like USB sticks and 4 wires, cheaper but be careful, it often leads to troubles, according to messages from desperate members on the forum.
The format being 4:3, the image quality can only be judged on the TV screen once the film is burned.

Thank you everyone. Glandu once again full of good explanations. That said, I don't have a choice of software, since I got this one as a gift.
I found out how to change from PAL to SECAM. For the mini cassettes and the camcorder, everything is fine. I just need to figure out how to put two on the same DVD.
As for the recorded VHS tapes, the results aren't great. They are old tapes and maybe they are dusty. The purchased VHS tapes give better results.
You have to get used to new software!
Thanks again.
