Can you connect a micro hi-fi system to an amplifier?

Hello, I want to connect an amplifier with 4 Hi-Fi outputs for the speakers instead of connecting 4 to my Hi-Fi system which only has 2 Hi-Fi outputs. Is this possible and is it without risk?

    Hello,

    Generally, what is (improperly) referred to as an amp is actually a power amp-preamp, meaning a preamplification stage for the sources (tuner, turntable, tape recorder, etc.) and a power stage.

    If your amp has these inputs, you don't need the mini-system. Just connect the speakers to the new amp, provided that the power and impedance of the speakers are compatible, that is, at least equal to those of the amp, otherwise, there is a risk of a short circuit.

    If for any reason you want to connect a mini-system to a power amp-preamp, you need to retrieve the signal from a line out or tape/record out and connect it to a line in or tape/record in.

    There is no electrical or electronic danger in this configuration.

    If you have a "simple" power amp (without a preamp and therefore no inputs for sources), you can operate with the connection indicated above (after checking the power and impedance of the speakers).
