Hello,
I would just like to know the capabilities of this graphics card so that I can understand what I could do with it (video, gaming, etc.).
The PC configuration is as follows:
4GB of RAM
i3 (2.3GHz) for the CPU
Win8
500GB
graphics card (see title)
Thank you in advance
Configuration: Windows 8 / Chrome 23.0.1271.91

Well, I might contradict more than a few people, but in this case, I have a 610M (2GB though) with an i5, 4GB of RAM, Windows 7: and I can run Skyrim, Alan Wake, Borderlands 2, Dishonored properly.
The thing is, I play on a laptop; I was offered a bigger screen, but I preferred to stick with a smaller screen. However, the resolution being 1280x1024, I can play on high settings and it still looks nice. Less impressive than on a 24-inch fixed PC screen, but the enjoyment of playing is there.

I'm here to warn players not to equip themselves with this GT610M, as they will be disappointed.
Of course, the problem is different if you already have a PC with this GPU; the solution is indeed to reduce screen size, resolution, and details to make it work better, but unfortunately, this doesn't change the fact that the GT 610M is weak and not intended for 3D gaming. Once again, the amount of memory strictly does not change anything for a GPU in this category...
I know it costs more to equip yourself with a more powerful GPU, but I believe there is a minimum requirement to be able to play properly on a laptop; otherwise, it's better to choose a desktop PC.
In my opinion, the minimum recommended for gaming on laptops is the GTX 650M:
contrary to what its name suggests, this GT 650M is roughly equivalent to a HD 6750 or a GTS 450 desktop (information you can find on the Noteboockcheck website, for example), which are not (or no longer) really gamer GPUs...
