Sort files AND folders

Hello

I have searched high and low but I still haven't found a solution to my problem:

I would like to sort my folders AND my files in alphabetical order ONLY, meaning I want to intersperse files between the subfolders present in the folder.
In Windows Explorer, sorting by name first arranges all the folders in alphabetical order and then all the files in alphabetical order, I would like there to be no distinction in the sorting.

If someone could help me with Windows Explorer or another explorer, that would be great

Goodbye and thank you
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

Guilhem, you should know that I am looking for the same thing as you.
I tried something that should help you, but first copy this link:

What’s missing is the automatic reorganization; otherwise, with the mouse, you can place your folders or files wherever you want. With about twenty, it’s fine, but if there are 5000 or more to organize, it quickly becomes overwhelming.

You can improve this in Windows by using the menu
    View
    Group by

But it is unable to sort the contents of a folder correctly by date! If you have a solution... thanks

    Hello,

I don't know if you've resolved your issue since February 2007, but having the same need as you, I've tried numerous alternative 'EXPLORER' options in vain, yet still no solution.

The only software that allows for this is TREESIZE PROFESSIONAL version 4.1.0.302

Please let me know if you found something..

      Of course it exists!
You need to use the leaders in the field, namely:
      TC: TOTAL Commander
      or
      Directory Opus
(the latter does everything you could possibly need, you can customize everything, add commands, buttons, etc...)

Please respond if this meets your needs

      Best regards

    add the key:

    HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
    NoStrCmpLogical = 1

    and there you go

      Note
To sort your favorites alphabetically in the Favorites Center, right-click any item, then click Sort by name.
