    Hi,
    like all electrical devices you must especially ensure good ventilation around it.
    The risk of overheating is certainly increased if the device is too enclosed without any air circulation.
    Before burning, you’ll notice it because it will crash quite a few times if it overheats.

    I don't see where it says that the Freebox set the apartment on fire.
    It says "it would seem" / "it seems."
    An expert does not base conclusions on what **appears** to be.

    Hi everyone,
    I need to change my box because I have the old v4. It already heats up quite a bit, you know if the latest one heats up less?
    thanks ++

    good evenings everyone

    hello lionhell454

    as brupala says, don't put anything around too close or on the box, if your box is in a living room sideboard, if your box contains one or two USBs, you can put it underneath, it's designed for laptops but actually works for any device of this size too

    like this one with two USB 2.0, it's doable

    for the v4 I don't know, though

      Hi Francky, and thanks!
      I know, I did this for my phone, but with V4 I can’t because I don’t have a USB port, that didn’t occur to me.
      great idea, I hadn’t thought of that at all!
      I’m going to order the latest box because of my seniority, etc... and do that.
