Hello,
I have Bitdefender Antivirus Plus v10 and I browse the internet using Mozilla Firefox.
I am experiencing a problem with my network connection every time I start my computer.
When I turn on my PC and immediately click on my browser, I get a message indicating that my connection is "limited or nonexistent."
If I turn on my computer and wait about 30 seconds (or even a minute), a Bitdefender icon appears at the bottom right after this waiting period. But once in every two times, I receive a message stating that my connection is limited or nonexistent.
I have come to the following observations:
- It is impossible to access the internet when I turn on my computer unless I wait for the Bitdefender icon to appear at the bottom right (next to the clock).
- If after waiting, the icon appears at the bottom right, I have a fifty-fifty chance of accessing the internet. I sometimes have to go through the Windows assistant to establish an internet connection (and assign myself an IP address).
I uninstalled my antivirus and performed several restarts of my computer. Each time, I had my internet connection and my IP address was active without me having to launch it manually. I conclude that the antivirus is the issue.
How should I configure my Bitdefender product so that it does not block my internet connection?
Thank you for your assistance.

Configuration: Windows XP Mozilla Firefox 2
Thank you for your reply, I didn't expect to get one so quickly.
I had already checked my firewall and its filtering rules, and curiously, Mozilla is included in the rules for which Bitdefender is supposed to allow the connection. Still, the problem occurs once every two times when I start my PC.
If you have any other leads, I am open to suggestions. Thanks again

you can always check in the Bit Defender firewall the level of protection it is set to, we look to see if it hasn't been set to block everything. If that's not it, I'm sorry but I don't know.
good luck
Thank you for your support anyway and good luck.
