Hello,
I'm reaching out because since yesterday, my touchpad isn't working anymore.
I have a Toshiba Satellite C870-12P.
The FN+F9 combination doesn't change anything. In the settings, it says that the Synaptic driver v7.2 is working correctly, that the hardware is OK, with no conflicts, etc. And the thing is, I didn't do anything special between the day before yesterday and yesterday when it suddenly stopped working...
So I'm using an external USB mouse, which thankfully works, but I'd like to use my touchpad! So help. I've checked the Synaptic website (www.synaptics.com/resources/drivers) and I'm currently downloading the latest driver, but I'm afraid of messing something up. So if anyone knows about this... thanks!
Fab.

I'm ashamed to say it, but it works again and the solution was so simple!
I looked in the manual, it was enough to press "F5" to unlock the touchpad. In my opinion, this is only for the Toshiba Satellite, but what's strange is that this simple button prevents you from using it, even when going into the computer's options, etc. etc.
Anyway, it works again, and for those who might have the same problem, first of all, consult the manual! lol

So simple; it really shows that we don't read the manual before using the devices, thinking we're experts, Hahahahaha. I also had this problem. I used to start my PowerPoints with the "F5" key on a Satellite A100. Now that I'm on a Satellite C850, I reflexively pressed that key; as a result, my touchpad isn't working anymore. Out of curiosity, I looked at what's written on the "F5" key; the rest...............

For a Toshiba Satellite C660, you need to press FN+F9 and it will work again!
