"Full SIM card" when adding contact

Hello,

I recently bought a Sony Xperia U.
When I try to add a contact to the SIM card, I receive a message saying "SIM card full", yet when I check the memory, I have over 3GB of available space...

I didn't have this problem with my old phone, so I suspect it's a hardware issue.

Does anyone have any suggestions or a similar problem?

Thank you

Configuration: Windows 7 / Chrome 22.0.1229.94

Hello,
be careful not to confuse a SIM card and a memory card.

A SIM card is the card that is in the phone that allows you to make calls, etc...

The memory card is used to store music, for example.

A SIM card doesn't have much memory.
You must have too many contacts on the SIM card.

Yes, I made a mistake in the naming of the phone's storage parameters; it's my internal memory that is free, not my SIM.
In this case, is there a way to check the available space on the SIM card?

Normally, you should have marked memory status in the contact settings; otherwise, change the source of the contact storage and set it to SIM card.

Keeping contacts on the SIM card is convenient but a bit old-fashioned.
My advice is to be faithful :) and to plan ahead.

I used to pay really close attention to that. Always keeping contacts on the SIM. Now all my contacts are on my PC, and thanks to Sony for that. Through its PC Companion (which is on your U), you can back up everything or choose what you want to back up to your PC.
In addition to your contacts, you can also store emails, postal addresses... that you can't have on your SIM.
I've been using contacts since a K 550 through C 902, Aino, Satio, Arc, and Ion; I've never bothered to do it manually. Just a few seconds are enough for 490 contacts.

I'm not advertising for Sony, but I found it simple with them without being connected to the internet. Otherwise, others do it too, but they steal your contacts by going through the internet :)

At the same time, you have to keep up with technology, right?
Having a smartphone like the U means having almost everything in one go instead of searching everywhere.
