IPhone SIM unlock impossible because touchscreen is blocked

Help, my iPhone 3GS is broken, the screen is stuck on "unlock the SIM card" but the unlock slider won't move to the right under my finger.
I gently cleaned the screen, washed and dried my hands, but it didn’t work. I tried to turn off the phone but since I can’t slide the "turn off" either, it doesn’t work. I removed the SIM card and put it back after gently wiping it, with no result.
I can see the names of the people who called me, but I obviously can’t answer or call back.
