Hello,

I have a problem with footnotes in Word:

The line breaks are impossible to remove... I have looked in the styles, in the footnote options, I have tried switching to draft mode... Nothing works, I cannot place my cursor on it to hit "Backspace" to delete them, I have no control over it.

Any help/suggestions would be welcome!

Thanks =)

Good evening,

Switch to draft mode and display the footnotes (click the Show Footnotes button in the Footnotes group)

When you are in the footnote, click on the drop-down list "Footnotes", and choose "Footnote Separator", then click the Reset button.

In case your line breaks are still there, delete them manually.

Select the line above (or below, give it a try) and right-click on "paragraph." There, you can set the spacing before and after to zero.

The spacing is used to create space between your lines with the option to choose whether you want it above or below. The line spacing option also exists.
