Hello,

I just bought a Packard Bell Easynote TK85 used, it needed a keyboard change and I need to reinstall Windows because when I turn it on it displays "a disk read error occurred press ctrl+alt+del to start", but I've seen that with Packard Bell it seems complicated if it’s a blank disk. Is that true?

Configuration: Windows 7 / Chrome 22.0.1229.79

There is a recovery option because on my old HP, I could reinstall without a CD by pressing F11.

    Hello,
If, as you say, your hard drive is empty, then you definitely don't have a Recovery partition, so you will need an installation DVD.

OK, because I bought it from an individual who told me it was working, and when I turn it on, it shows me this. I didn't check if the hard drive is there. Do you think it might not be there?

Try at startup, at the same time as the PBell logo, hold down ALT and repeatedly tap F10 without interruption.

      Is this the recovery?

Normally, it should launch ERecovery Management PBell.
You choose Restore and restore to factory settings.

Ok, I'm going to test it this weekend, as I don't have it with me.

I think the hard drive is dead, impossible to reinstall. I'm going to try another hard drive.
