Format my PackardBell EasyNote TJ65

Hello you guys!

Well, I hope someone will be able to help a poor girl in distress lol!
Me, who is normally not bad at PCs, there I am pulling my hair!!! I received from my stepmother her Packard Bell EasyNote TJ65 PC; when I open the session it asks me for the activation key! Before it was telling me that I had a fake Windows (I fixed that). When I try to enter this key, it shows a message that the Windows activation attempt failed with error code: something something something (yes, I didn’t note it!).

So I’d like to format the PC, maybe that will fix the bazaar, but, to crown it all, I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO FORMAT THIS PACKARD BELL!!
Please, can someone tell me? I don’t even have the CD! Grrrr

THANK YOU VERY MUCH :-D

    Hello,

Start the PC by holding down the ALT key and tapping the F10 key at the same time; this should take you to the factory restore partition, if it is still present. It will be in the same state as when it was purchased.

    Kind regards

I’ve tried what you told me three times in a row, but the startup still runs normally... Nothing happens :-/

Hello, thanks. I had forgotten the procedure to reset my laptop. It worked on the first try! Wishing you continued success, and thank you, Skyman.

so, the factory restore partition has been deleted and if the installation CDs have not been done, it is impossible to perform the restoration ...

You would need to buy a Windows 7 license to stay within the law.

Hi Laurax, press Alt+F8 to start and then choose "Repair the computer" and follow the prompts. The computer may ask you for a username and a password. If "Packard Bell recovery management" exists on your computer, you should see it with this method.

      Good evening bupwen,

the problem is that, precisely, I don't have PackardBell Recovery Management :-/
would your method still work without this program? I did a search on the PC, but it seems it may have been removed by the previous owner of the laptop...

Can you click Start and then search for "Create and format partitions"; click it, then take a screenshot of the window, upload it to cjoint.com, and post the link on commentcamarche.net?

Hi, according to the screenshot the recovery partition has been deleted. So to restore your PC to its original state you’ll need a Windows CD. Otherwise I found a link talking about the recovery partition, here it is: " https://www.commentcamarche.net/faq/1380-materiel-packard-bell-restauration-master#restaurer-son-packard-bell ".
If I were you I would either buy a new "authentic Windows CD", or a new PC with the Windows I really want. Bless you?

If you right-click on This PC - Manage - Disk Management, do you see the factory restore partition?

Was Windows 7 originally installed when this PC was purchased?

Yes yes, but an evaluation version. that's why it asks me for the activation key today

it's that at the purchase, it wasn't Windows 7 ...
the evaluation version was installed afterwards.
