Create bootable USB drive for Windows XP Solved

Question

Hello everyone,

I recently downloaded Windows XP + SP3 from the MSDNA platform. (I’m a student and I have legal access to Microsoft software and OS for a limited time). Unfortunately, I can’t create the bootable USB drive.
When using the "Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool", I get an error: after selecting the ISO, it tells me that my ISO is not valid.
I then tried to trick it by opening the ISO with PowerIso, to change the image properties by checking UDF (File=>Image Properties=>check UDF). This allowed the software to accept the ISO, but it caused an error at the end of the "burning" process.
If you know of a good software that could help me create a bootable USB drive with my XP ISO, I’m all ears :)

Hello,
Make your USB drive bootable using the command prompt and Diskpart.
Install Daemon Tool, create a virtual drive, put your ISO in it and you will then be able to copy/paste the folders/files to your USB drive.

I have already looked at this topic; it concerns people who have the Windows CD. I only have the ISO.

Thank you for the response.
Here’s what I typed in the command prompt:
DISKPART
list disk
select disk 2
clean (this command did not work, it stated that this was impossible)
create partition primary
active
format fs=fat32 quick
assign
exit
exit

I then copied/pasted the files onto the USB drive using Daemon Tools, but when booting on my netbook it displayed: "Please remove the disk and press a key to restart". I tested the USB on my desktop and it created a black screen before booting into the OS.
Are there any hidden files that I might not be able to copy/paste with Daemon Tools or something like that?

I finally managed it! Not without difficulty! :)
Yes, I did format it in FAT. I still don't know why the ISO I downloaded wouldn't boot (especially since I downloaded it from DreamSpark, which is an official Windows thing, but anyway).
So to solve my problem, I downloaded an XP ISO from elsewhere (one could say illegally, even if that's not necessarily true in my case) to which I applied my activation key that I got from DreamSpark. Thanks for your help Lacharpente.
ps: I tried UNetbootin and that didn't work either...
