Reset windows xp without cd

Hello,

I have an Asus EeePC and neither F9 nor F10 works and it's driving me crazy!! Please help me !!!!!!!!!!
( I'm on Windows XP )
I've had loads and loads of viruses that have messed everything up and deleted system files :'(. I can only go on the internet and on MSN now!! (I know it's my life but it's really annoying me)

If YOU have an Acer computer running Windows XP, Vista XP Pro,... At startup, press Alt+F10 at the right moment, then click on "Restore factory default settings," enter the FIRST password you set on the computer; if you haven't set one, type 000000! and wait 5 minutes (normally) AND it's done.

PS: Before doing this, back up all IMPORTANT things on a DVD (if you have a lot to back up)!!!!

Is it necessary to have restoration CDs to reset with F10, or can it be done without any CDs afterward?

Definitely do not format any partitions!!! You won't have anything left afterwards. You should have a recovery partition (check in Disk Management if you can see it) or, as Suoerbanis indicated, you need to press a key combination when starting up your PC to launch a restore procedure. For ACER, for example, it's ALT+F10.

And, do you need to make a CD with drivers before pressing alt + f10?

Hello! So here it is, like most people in this discussion, I would like to reset my PC without formatting it (since I don't have the installation CD). My computer is a LENOVO laptop, series 3000 N100, dating back to 2007 I believe.

If someone knows the steps to reset it, considering that I can't access the start menu since it has disappeared! !

Hello everyone. I have a Dell PC that won't boot up anymore...

- Win XP Pro
- SP2

When I boot, everything goes normally until a "Black Screen" appears and then a page tells me that
the computer could not start normally due to a recently installed software or a new
device. After that, I have the choice of

- Safe Mode
- Safe Mode with Networking
- Safe Mode with Command Prompt

- Start with Last Known Good Configuration
- Start Windows Normally

The problem is that in both Safe Modes, the computer restarts. With the Command Prompt,
it restarts too!! And in the other two modes, Windows starts normally but just before (normally) reaching the user selection screen, Black Screen and it restarts.

I don't have a problem resetting because I have a 'Back Up' from a month ago.
