Use ACER XD1170D projector via USB

Hello,
I want to use my USB port (I broke my VGA port 8-( ) to project from my Packard Bell laptop to an ACER XD1170D video projector.

When I go to "Printers and Devices," my PC recognizes the projector but the projector (which works fine) shows "No Signal."
I've already tried disconnecting and reconnecting my USB cable but it’s still the same.
I found the projector’s manual online but it doesn't help...
What should I do? Install a driver? Give it a good whack on the head?

Thank you very much in advance for your help.

Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 15.0.1

Hello, I want to point out that USB is digital and VGA is analog, so it won't work. However, if you have a output on the PC, either composite (yellow RCA) or S-video, it will work.

Please remember to mark "resolved" if that's the case.

Thank you Glandu for your response, but the Acer documentation indicates that the laptop can be connected to the projector. Doesn't that mean that the PC's image can be displayed by the projector via USB?

      http://www.acer.fr/ac/fr/FR/content/drivers
      and look at the manual
but it's not a video input you need to set your PC to 800X600 mode
this allows you to control the projector from the PC and change the image on the Acer menu
as for the rest I'm like "glandu" I'm skeptical about the possibility of sending a file from your PC to this projector via USB
      there you go
