Hello,
I just paid and downloaded the musicme software to download unlimited music. You probably know about it, but I read that when you unsubscribe, you can no longer access your music!!
And I can't put them on my 30GB iPod, the songs are protected!
What can I do to first put them on my iPod and then burn them, that would be great!! lol
Thanks in advance

This is a big scam MUSICME !!!!
Already, just to listen to tracks, you can simply go to major sites like Fnac to listen to them.
On MusicMe, you have to pay to listen… isn’t that outrageous?
If we still had the option to listen, even just a few seconds of a track to get an idea, that would be nice, but here… nope nope!!!
Anyway, on other forums, some mention the problem that it only works with WMP
and that once you unsubscribe from the site, you lose EVERYTHING!!!!
Which, in a way, seems logical to me… lol since many will do everything to download as much as possible during the first month… and then unsubscribe… and that’s the big SURPRISE! You will have spent hours downloading for nothing.
They’re laughing at us, I think, and want to make a maximum of money off our backs.
Don't fall into this trap!!!

Hello,
I’m responding even though that was not at all the purpose of my visit to this forum.
I have been using MusicMe for about a year.
For €15 a month, they offer the following:
- You can legally download everything they have (personally, about 15% of what I listen to is not yet available with them).
- This means that the files (protected wma format) are physically on your computer. You might say it doesn't matter; the files could just remain online (streaming directly from the site), but I don’t know, it seems more natural to download the files to me. As baggylover mentioned above, the Fnac site must be great for listening to tracks directly online. But for anyone used to their hundreds of CDs in mp3 on their hard drive, used to Winamp, etc., it’s more comfortable (?)
- If you want to put the tracks on a portable player, it’s a hassle; there are currently a very limited number of compatible players, yours probably isn't on the list (the MusicMe site offers a non-exhaustive list of compatible players). So in that case, you might want to convert a few albums to mp3 one by one, or even burn them, but in any case, you fall back into the illegal. So there’s no point in converting everything to mp3; it would be simpler to download everything illegally on eMule. Personally, I have hundreds (thousands?) of albums that I legally have with MusicMe, and from time to time I update those on my player by converting them to mp3, it’s the lesser evil.
- You have to understand that €15 a month is a kind of 'rental'; of course, there’s no way to subscribe for one month, download your 300 previously pirated albums, and expect to legally keep all that for eternity, all for just €15. If you unsubscribe, you can no longer play the files (you can always re-subscribe later). Some might even say that if they raise the subscription to €20 tomorrow, people will have the choice between paying or re-downloading everything from a cheaper competitor... :-(
- Anyway, for anyone who has already pirated hundreds of CDs and wants to go legal, it's worth it: personally, my thousands of CDs must be worth tens of thousands of euros. For a year I’ve been listening to all that legally for... €15 times 12 months. And if you download one or two albums a month, it’s still profitable...
- Note: when you buy music track by track on other sites, you can be stingy and download the minimum; with MusicMe it's like DSL: as soon as you pay €15 a month, it’s an opportunity to download to your heart’s content, you could take 30 albums a month if you want, etc.
So that's my informed opinion.

rule number 1: even if we are French speakers: we don't pay for what is free
with hadopi and the like, sites allowing the free use of their files are changing, adapting
there are add-ons (for Internet Explorer) or "extensions" for Firefox that allow you to download a clip, music, or a movie for free with a single click

Hello,
I have been subscribed to MusicMe for 3 months, and so far, it's been nothing but happiness. The catalog, although still limited (it's still new), contains most of what I want, so I'm satisfied.
I solved the DRM or compatibility problem with all players for those interested: you need to buy software that converts WMA files from MusicMe to MP3 format which is accepted by everyone. Unfortunately, very few software options of this type are available, no freeware, so after several attempts, I opted for SoundTaxi and it works well (you have to shell out $23...). Once converted to MP3, there are no problems transferring to my iPod. And consequently, even if I cancel my subscription, I can keep the music I downloaded.
Everything seems perfect therefore, except that I had a PC problem 15 days ago, where the motherboard battery (I didn't know there was a battery) was dead, causing the PC to reset the clock to 2004 on boot. After changing the battery, the PC is fine, but the MusicMe Download Manager refuses to work (both the old version and the new one). I did send an email to MusicMe support (several actually), but got no response, not even a confirmation of receipt. So the support is terrible. Does any of you have a trick to contact support other than their simplistic interface in MusicMe where you don't even know if the message was sent?

I've been using Music Me for a few months now, and personally, I've never had any issues!
As for converting Music Me audio files to MP3, I use Tunebite, which can only be downloaded from the internet; it costs €19.90, a very good investment. (Payment is only possible by credit card)
However, the somewhat annoying part is that you have to convert one file at a time...
On the practical side, afterwards you can burn or put your song on the MP3.
I only use Tunebite to remove the protection from certain songs I really like to put on my MP3!
I pay €9.90 a month! And honestly, having all your favorite albums available on your PC anywhere, with or without an internet connection, is awesome! In any case, it's much better than online music players like Deezer!
Try it and you'll adopt it!

I really like Music Me, I find it simpler than iTunes and better. I used it for a long time without burning, but since it wasn't compatible when I bought my iPod, I switched to iTunes, but I miss Music Me. What do you recommend so I can convert my files if I go back to Music Me, to be able to burn them or put them on my iPod Chromatic? Thank you for your response. Can we for example burn them (by converting, but with what, then maybe put them in the iTunes library for free, then transfer them to the iPod?
What would you do? What is the best solution? What is certain is that I liked Music Me, but what is the best solution and especially the most economical? Thank you and have a nice day.

a little question why subscribe to this site when you can listen to them for free every day ??
if you subscribe, you will only be able to listen to them on your PC so you might as well not download them and just connect to read them directly ...
nowhere is it mentioned that they can't be played on CDs ...
except if you burn them onto a CD to play them on your computer ^^ whoooaahhhh that gives me a brand new beautiful leg ^^

Hello
for me no problem with musicme I download all the possible albums and transfer them to my Archos 5 and no problem to listen to them

Hi, I'm wondering if I should subscribe to musicme too and after reading your questions, I'm hesitating. It is indeed stated in the terms of use that you can download to your MP3, otherwise what’s the point? If it's just to listen to music, there’s YouTube. The goal is to be able to take it with us.
I think I'm going to wait for a tech whiz to find the solution before subscribing.

et comment ça marche pour extraire la musique sur son disque dur? c'est quoi WAV? (excusez mon ignorance!!!)
>> well seen the scam, but for me, no way I'm gonna be taken for a fool
Do you have a better solution? (another service than musicme?)
>> I solved the DRM or compatibility issue with all players for those interested: you need to buy software that converts MusicMe's WMA files to the MP3 format, which is accepted by everyone

Let's note that for the past 10 years, everyone has had free access to all the music produced around the world (heard of peer-to-peer?). The only (and slim) advantage of musicme is that it’s a legal service. Paying for musicme, then paying for software specifically to go right back into illegality, I’m afraid not many people will find that appealing.
Regarding the technical issue: there is indeed a lack of a user forum on the musicme site. I just asked them (via their site) if they plan to create one. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be bad if a few users took it upon themselves (by creating a www.forum-musicme.com for instance)

Before, I used SoundTaxi to convert WMA files to MP3 one by one (these were the DRM-protected WMAs from MusicMe), but it was quite tedious (and it was a cracked SoundTaxi :-( )
In the end, there's a solution based on free software that works very well. Now I just have to right-click on a folder and choose "Convert," and voila, the WMAs end up as MP3s on my USB drive.
The software includes FairUse4WM.exe (which removes the DRM from the WMA) and WMAMP3Converter.exe (which converts the DRM-free WMA to MP3).
Expect about ten hours of work to get everything up and running, write the script that sequentially calls the two, and integrate it into the right-click menu on a directory. And for those who aren't tech-savvy, there's always SoundTaxi...

well personally it's starting very very badly since I registered yesterday and on my first login this morning
they ask for a username and password
either I'm managing badly right from the start (!) but when I enter the username and password received in the registration email I get an HTTP 403 error (yet the download manager is open and continuing to download...) I can't access anything not even technical support
could someone tell me where I'm going wrong!
thanks everyone

I saw the advertisement for 1 euro for the first month, so I thought, why not do it legally? Honestly, this site encourages crime; a downloader that is impossible to install. I've installed, uninstalled, reinstalled, I even uninstalled service pack 1 from Vista. I've tried everything—firewall changes, different browsers, updates, but nothing works.
Customer service is terrible, no response, and it's really outrageous because being attentive to the customer is the foundation of the service.
The choice is mediocre and on top of that, you apparently have to do conversions just to keep the music you paid for, and it's almost like you shouldn't buy an Archos. Anyway, I unsubscribed on the first day, I paid my euro, and I swear they won't get me again, lol.
I strongly advise against this site to everyone because in my opinion, it’s not serious, but that’s just my opinion.

What a bunch of idiots here. You say this site isn't legitimate when it's completely legal. You want to cheat by converting files and it's them who aren't serious. Frankly, guys, I don't know where you were educated, but it's serious. If only you read the terms of use before paying. You're not buying; you're renting. Get real, for less than 10 to 20 euros a month, you want to be able to buy all the music circulating on earth, or almost. I've been subscribed to this site for years and I'm happy with it.
Hello everyone,
you’re probably going to think I’m an idiot, but I’ve looked everywhere on the musicMe site, whether in the help section or the terms and conditions, and I haven’t been able to unsubscribe from this site. I’m on the musicMe FREE plan, but this site isn’t really useful to me, which is why I want to part ways: it’s time to declutter before the new school year!!
Thanks in advance for any possible solution.

On the MUSIC ME homepage, go to my account (top right)
then tab 2 my plan
then on my package
then status and there you check cancel
See you!

oh la la, forgive me for not replying sooner... I didn't have access to my PC.
Anyway, when I go to my plan, I can see the subheading "status" but with "active account" next to it and no link to cancel. Could it be different because I'm only on musicme FREE and not music Me unlimited? I really don't know but this situation is bothering me a lot. If anyone could shed some light on the subject, please feel free...
And thanks anyway Maphil60, it's nice of you to respond.

And you don't think that's normal?
It's just music rental, not purchase, so it's normal for it to be protected and to stop when you no longer pay.
It's not unlimited purchase; otherwise, for €10, you would buy millions of tracks...
A scam is when what is advertised is not delivered, whereas with Music Me, they deliver what they advertise. Whether or not you find it suitable is one thing, but when you pay €10 for an album online, it's for an album, not for thousands.
And yet, I tried it and I'm no longer subscribed, but what you are complaining about doesn't make sense.
it's just good for listening to French songs.. the radios are convenient
afterwards you shouldn't sign up on every site that asks for it (beware of spam)...
