Hello everyone....
I am looking for some advice.... I am trying to encode a mixed CD on my hard drive in order to later create compilations in MP3 format.
These are mixed CDs.... during the encoding process, it correctly records the tracks, but when I try to listen to them later, there is a gap between each song... I have tried with Windows, Easy CD Extractor, and CDex without success... can someone help me... thank you in advance...

Hello and thank you... I'm trying this and I'll keep you updated.... yesterday I tried with Nero and even checking the removal of spaces I had a little hiccup between each piece...
Thank you for the information.... -
I bet you are ripping directly to mp3: it will never work, there is always a very short silence at the beginning (try displaying one with Audacity, for example, you will see). The simple solution: rip the CD in wav, use the wav files for burning (by enabling the "no pause between tracks" option with Nero as well as "disc-at-once"), and then rip your wav files to mp3 afterwards...
If you want to listen to the "mix" directly in mp3, the problem will exist anyway (the silence at the beginning of the mp3), you need to choose a player that allows you to do crossfading (try Traktor player, free at www.nativeinstruments.com). Otherwise, the only option is indeed a large file with your mixed mp3s thanks to Audacity.
Finally, I think... -
Nothing to do..... if I encode with Nero in WAV while checking to remove the gaps, there's still a little hiccup between each track anyway! Rrrr!

Hello, I want to tell you I also have this problem. I want to remove this silence at the end or at the beginning of the MP3s. I convert them to WAV and when I convert them back to MP3, it adds silence. The question must be then what the heck is the real problem to convert to MP3 or cut the MP3s without adding anything... After all this time MP3s have existed, there must be some program out there for this, that's for sure... I thought I had found it, but unfortunately that’s not the case... Good luck!

Hello rufus1972, try doing this with Audacity: https://sourceforge.net/projects/audacity/
It will allow you to glue your pieces together with crossfade.
