Watch movies on PS3 with external hard drive

for a USB key, you need to do the following, I think it's the same for a hard drive

by searching through the different topics available online:

-You need to create, at the root of the USB key, the folders (all in uppercase) PICTURE, MUSIC, VIDEO, PS3
and in the PS3 folder,
UPDATE (for OFFLINE system updates)
SAVEDATA (where to put the saves)
EXPORT
in the EXPORT folder,
BACKUP (PS3 restore point)
PSV (PS2 saves)

in my own way:

-If your key is recognized, in Video, or Photo etc... you press Triangle on your key icon, Show All.
You just have to copy the data to your console to enjoy it (finally the saves, the only ones you can't read on the key)
