Hello,
I am about to send my WESTERN DIGITAL 1TB external hard drive to Deadhardrive in Shanghai, China, and I wanted to know based on your experiences, what the success rate is for total data recovery? Apparently, in the case of a physical or mechanical failure of a hard drive, the probability of recovering all the content is 60%...
For those who have already used Deadhardrive, did you recover everything or not?
For those concerned, please take 30 seconds to note your success percentage regarding your data recovery...
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!!
Configuration: Windows Vista / Internet Explorer 7.0

Hello,
Sébastien Burley asked me to give feedback on my experience here.
Like many of you, my HDD failed :/
I did a lot of research to find the best price.
One read head was faulty and it would have been very expensive in France.
I even looked into prices in Canada. They had very good prices and the $/€ conversion was in my favor.
But nothing compares to DeadHardDrive's offer.
Like you, I was skeptical.
I first contacted them by email to get their opinion and some details.
I even inquired about personalities who have used their service (including a manager from SNCF).
After several weeks, I found nothing better or any negative reviews. I then sent my drive.
No need to pay high fees for overseas, just send it to the French address. Convenient.
I was contacted fairly quickly to let me know that the hard drive had been received, then to specify the failure and inform me that all the data had been recovered.
I received the screenshots I had requested via an email document that Sébastien sent me (Word file). They offered me several options for data return.
Sending via FTP took too long so I chose a USB stick.
I even managed to negotiate the price of the latter (from €49 to €29). Not all companies make a commercial gesture (it's becoming rare...)
Then, 10 days later, I received a very well-protected package from China, containing the USB stick. All the data was there!
I even ran an antivirus scan (you never know!).
I paid via Paypal (if they are scammers, I can easily get my money back) and there were no hidden fees (unlike other companies that charge for the quote...)
Conclusion :
Contact via email without any issues
No transport problems (sending within France so no extra costs)
Quick (2 days after receiving the drive, they had recovered the data)
A good choice for returning the data (even FTP if it's not too large)
Payment via Paypal
Very affordable !!!! (€499 + €29)
Merchant (discount of €20)
€528 while the French competition is around €800-1000 for this type of failure and Canada around €700.
If you're still hesitant, type "Deadhardrive scam" on Google.
I didn't find a single negative review!
You can trust the brothers 100%.
So I recommend them and will do the same to my acquaintances, because when you're satisfied, you need to voice it. It's a fair return!
Thank you again to DeadHardrive and Sébastien Burley. -
Have you tried getting a quote in France? There are quite a few companies that apparently offer good prices?
Personally, I think 500 or 600 euros is already relatively expensive for data recovery.
It's indeed tough to find many reviews and to know if they are genuine. Searching on CCM, we can already find this, which is quite reassuring:

Keep us updated on your experience. Price, turnaround time, results... that will help others in your situation. -
Hello,
I’m not in the habit of leaving reviews, but I have to this time!!!
My laptop fell, and as a result, my hard drive failed (2 months later). I hadn’t done a backup, and I regretted it (years of photos lost that were of great value!).
Unfortunately, there weren't many reviews about this company deadharddrive, so I hesitated a lot.
I did contact companies based in France, but it was way too expensive for me (700-900€), so I decided to go for China!!!!! I waited a year to save some money!
I sent my hard drive on 27/01/12 (to their French address), and by 16/02/12, my data had been recovered. I had Sébastien as my contact, and I received emails fairly regularly to keep me updated. I received my data on 22/02/12 on a new 500 GB hard drive (which I paid extra for).
I paid 499€ (physical failure) + 79€ for the 500 GB hard drive.
Sébastien was very available; whenever I had a question, I got a pretty quick response.
I wouldn't hesitate to use this company again if a similar issue occurred. My experience was very positive. -
My experience: an email to explain my issue: a hard drive that burned out, a card changed which did nothing, a bug that dates back to April.
It is the end of September 2012, I have been looking for a solution for months that won't cost me an arm and a leg.
24 hours later I had the entire process to follow, I sent my hard drive, 10 days for my package to arrive at its destination.
It is October 16, 2012, I receive my new external hard drive with all my data on it.
So yes, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the company DEADHARDRIVE.
3 weeks and 586 euros to recover all my photos, those of my children, my pets, my residents, all the administrative documents of my company for the past 4 years. My website www.education-pension.com, you will find some of the photos there, and you will understand why they mean so much to me.
This may seem "cheesy," but I can breathe again both personally and professionally.
I leave my email to the site administrators, as my testimony is not a fake advertisement. -
Hello,
I'm not a frequent forum user except to browse.
We are a company and we lost quite a few professional files on a RAID 5 with 4 disks (about 300 GB out of 1.4 TB) during the reconstruction of this RAID (faulty controller). We therefore turned to DeadhardDrive. Mr. Bruley took care of us and kept us informed about the different stages of the recovery. The result is that almost all the files were recovered (except for a few that were really too damaged). We received the recovered data on a USB drive along with the damaged disks we had sent. The service was quick, about 2 weeks, and the quality is satisfactory, especially considering that the price of the recovery is very attractive. Highly recommended. -
Hello,
My hard drive is 1TB so the quote is €599. Like DarkMouette, I have read a lot of positive reviews about Deadhadrive, and for the few prices I’ve asked for in France, they are outrageous... I will send it to them tomorrow morning, fingers crossed that everything can be salvaged. Sébastien told me that after the PCB card is replaced, the total recovery rate is 60%. I really hope my photo files will be recovered!
DarkMouette -> Did you recover EVERYTHING?? -
Hello,
I am about to send my 2TB hard drive to them, and according to their quotes, it will cost me 500 euros for data recovery and 129 for a new hard drive.
I was therefore wondering if there was any way to negotiate the price of the replacement hard drive, 129€ for a 2TB really seems expensive..... -
on the site it worries me that = the best computer engineers in the world and the cheapest prices...
the site phrase = You pay NOTHING if we do not recover the data you want!
This rarely happens.
For example, a hard drive damaged at the level of its magnetic platters (severe scratches) is simply unrecoverable, no matter the service provider.: but is it true!!
the prices are really low which worries me
Logical failure: €199 VAT included
Electronic or mechanical failure (<1TB): €499 VAT included
Electronic or mechanical failure (>=1TB): €599 VAT included -

Hello,
I just finished recovering my data with Deadhardrive. It was a 1.5TB hard drive filled with video rushes and audio (both of my backups failed a few weeks before the loss of the originals). They managed to recover everything for less than 800 euros (including the cost of sending a new hard drive containing the rushes to the Netherlands where I live). In the first shipment, some very important data was missing, likely due to failed transfers (common with this type of file which is very large and tends to fail during copying), I listed them for them, and they sent me a hard drive for free with everything I needed. I was also followed by Mr. Bruley, who monitored the processing of my hard drive throughout and quickly answered all my questions. In short, I highly recommend this company, free estimate, estimate similar to the final price, personalized follow-up, good recovery (when it's not recoverable, they tell you right away, unlike others). So I know that sending your hard drive to Shanghai can be daunting (it was for me anyway), but I don't regret my choice. Data recovered. Reasonable price compared to competitors, where some quotes reached 2500 euros (for those who provided them, quotes made in France, Belgium, and the Netherlands). Very good feedback from clients (including my own). A serious company. The timeline was a bit long but very reasonable in my case, due to the amount of data to recover.
Basically, if you have a hard drive to recover, go through them; you have only one hard drive, you don't want to hand it over to scammers or incompetent people (and apparently they are numerous in the industry given the quotes I received and the client feedback on forums (I researched everything I could find online before making my choice for Deadhardrive)).
In short, I am really very satisfied and I strongly recommend this company...
P.S.: I never recommend anything, but here I want to give them a big thank you; they saved almost two years of filming, two years of work, so thanks again. It's an immense relief. -
Hello everyone, I'm going to try their services too and I'll give my opinion as objectively as possible..
Previously, I tried Chronodisk which didn't suit me, as they were already asking for 250 euros to see if anything could be recovered, and 1300 in total, too expensive for me..
So I hope Deadhardrive will do better..
To be continued -
Hello,
Like many, I have consulted various forums and reviews about the company Deadhardrive! I even came across a price comparison based on possible failures, well made: http://www.comparerprixrecuperationdonneesdisquedur.com/societes-recuperation-donnees-disque-dur-raid/
Anyway, as already mentioned, the rates of Deadhardrive's competitors are quite exorbitant and after 2/3 different quotes, I decided to go with DHD, not without some apprehension.
Sébastien was my contact throughout the process, answering my questions each time quickly. I sent the disk to them in Savoie (cost on my side) and they took care of the rest (shipping to Shanghai).
Quote at 499 euros + 70 euros for the recovery external drive of 500Go.
They were able to recover almost 100% of the requested data (and all types of files combined: images, music, video, documents, etc.).
As proof of the recovered files, screenshots of the directories of my disk were sent to me to ask if I validated the recovery and thus the transaction.
Disk sent on 25/04/2015 and received a month later. In my case, the diagnosed failure was: PCB card failure.
I haven't yet checked the full integrity of the data, but so far I have nothing to complain about! I am 100% satisfied because in my case, the quality and reliability of the service was there, no shady deals or hidden fees not mentioned in the quote, a serious assistance.
A little advice for payment that will save you from paying a surplus, choose to pay via Paypal rather than international bank transfer to avoid transaction fees (which, if you did not take them into account, skews the amount paid and thus forces you to complete).
Overall opinion: I recommend Deadhardrive.
