Startup error "Overclocking Failed"

Hello,

I have never overclocked my computer; all the settings are default, and for the past two weeks, I’ve been getting a message at startup saying that my overclocking settings have failed, and as a result, I cannot start my computer.

My motherboard is an "MSI France Z77A-G43".

What can I do to fix this problem? Thank you!

Hello

You simply need to enter the BIOS and exit while saving: F10, then 'Y".

  The message still appears.
  
  I tried to overclock by an additional 100MHz by increasing the multiplier but I received the same message..
  
  I then tried to reset the BIOS settings to defaults.. I still have the issue.
  
  I removed the battery from the motherboard for 30 seconds and put it back, the message is still present..
  
  Could "flashing the BIOS" resolve the issue or does it not have anything to do with it?

  No, definitely not, it's a risky operation when something abnormal happens.
  
  After a long shut down (24h) and complete power off, does the date and time reset?

    The computer stayed turned off last weekend, and the date and time are correct, no anomalies.

  It's normal at idle, I too if I check it will be at 1600 MHz... Your max multiplier is indeed 39 so it is at stock frequency...

  These are the default settings.. However, when I turn on the PC, it shuts down, then restarts, then turns on, then shuts down again, and on the third restart, the PC displays the error message indicating that the overclocking settings have failed..
  
  I tried unplugging my two hard drives and attempting to start my computer, and the problem persists.. any other suggestions?

  His problem is not the frequency but a message coming from the BIOS telling him (for no reason) "Overclocking Failed"

  Nothing unusual on the CPUZ side...(unfortunately I'd say)
  
  Try restoring the default settings (without "SETTING", then save I believe, "default settings", you save by F10, then "Y")

Problem solved!

In the end, it was a BIOS update issue; the latest version installed was causing everything to crash.

I managed to access the BIOS and install a previous version using a USB drive.

  I had already flashed the BIOS two or three times, but this one really gave me problems..
  
  I personally experienced several symptoms, all at startup:
  
  1st case: a message like
  "all previous overclocking settings have failed"
  F1 go to BIOS
  F2 restore default values..
  
  2nd case: unable to boot automatically from the correct hard drive
  
  3rd case (the one that scared me the most): rebooting every 3 seconds with no BIOS display, nothing on the screen
