Hello,

I would like to know if the tablets offered (sold) with a press subscription, like Nouvel Obs, work well?

I'm asking because the brand is not specified, but it has the following characteristics:
Touchscreen 7 inches (capacitive or resistive?)
Android 4.0 system
Flash memory: 4G
RAM: 512 Mo
USB 2.0, 1 input + 1 mini input

The ad says it is worth 115 € alone
Is it worth subscribing to the magazine for 1 year for 100 euros for this tablet?
Is it a scam or not?

It works very poorly, the keyboard doesn't work, but for a gift, one shouldn't be picky. It's good to give to a kid; he will be happy. Just good for browsing a few pages on the internet.

I subscribed to Nouvelobs and the tablet is great. Of course, it's not an iPad but it's pretty good, so I'm looking to find another magazine under the same conditions (129 euros for the tablet and 1 year subscription). Offers like this are very rare; usually, they are meant to win back former subscribers who have been absent for a few years. Plus, I received a set of 3 high-quality bags and a decent watch. I’ve also had a netbook and a portable TV in the past. You just have to ignore them for 2 or 3 years. Le Point is currently offering a hi-fi system, but it's a bit outdated!

Hi, I hope it's not a scam. The fact is that the prospectus for the tablet states that it will be shipped after the second payment is processed or within a maximum of 8 weeks after the full payment is made. That said, it's not 4 months to wait... but two working months, so it's something to keep an eye on!
The magazine is interesting, and of course the gifts too, a set of three bags, tablet + headphones, watch... I won't hide that this partly motivated my subscription, and receiving it at home is better than going to buy it at the kiosk.

it's really a scam especially since it's not a gift, it's charged at 115 euros in the subscription. I think I'm going to cancel my contract!!!

Hi, I received the tablet on time, the battery seemed charged, so I tested the product and of course it ran out very quickly.
So I put everything on charge for a night and I must say I notice the battery's poor autonomy, as mentioned before it lasts about 30 minutes and then nothing.
I received a message two weeks ago informing me that a fault had been found with the chargers, so I'm waiting for the one they promised me to see if it makes a difference.
Otherwise, of course, this product is not high-end; it’s a budget or promotional product, so let’s not expect too much in terms of high quality!
The camera function is fine; once again, I didn't expect better from this kind of device. In fact, I use it as a tool in the field because it's quite lightweight and compact, taking pictures with accompanying comments is sufficient for my use.
The internet-related functions work very well...
The other gifts satisfied me. So I believe I got my money's worth!

The battery life is a maximum of 10 minutes.
There’s no Google Play, so there's nothing interesting to download on it.
It responds at the speed of an old turtle.
And above all, you wait at least two months to receive it, even if you paid cash!
We're really close to a complete scam!
It's enough to put you off forever from Le Nouvel Observateur!!!!

The tablet from the Figaro subscription seems much more interesting and reliable.....

Hello, the "novo tech" touchscreen tablet received is a genuine piece of junk.
The touchscreen is unresponsive, the battery life is around twenty minutes, and when you open the battery compartment, you notice that the battery, about one millimeter thick, is glued with double-sided adhesive....
In summary, it is a complete scam.

Bizarre all these offers so different from each other!

I have been subscribed to L'Express for 1 month, whose offer is as follows:

- 24 months of L'Express + L'Express Style for €9/month (monthly payment)
- 1 Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 tablet
- 1 Vuillemin Regnier watch (leather strap)
- 1 "Internet for Dummies" book
- and a weather station because I responded within 7 days

So 9*24=216 euros in total
This is barely more expensive than if I had bought the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 at Fnac or elsewhere.

So a very good deal for me!!

I advise all of you against this kind of subscription; it’s USELESS. My sister bought the subscription and gave me the tablet, but the buttons for increasing or decreasing the volume don’t work anymore. I can do it with the touchscreen, but I’ve noticed a problem with the charger since then. The charger would disconnect at any moment; I really had to position it correctly for the tablet to charge. But earlier, when I wanted to charge my tablet, I realized that the charger doesn’t work at all anymore… Obviously, I’m very disappointed… So now I’m left with a dead tablet that can’t be used… Great (y) --'

Getting a magazine subscription in the hope of receiving a high-end tablet, you need to stop believing in Santa Claus.
In your comments, you forget that you are STILL receiving a magazine. If you have nothing better to do than criticize GIFTS, just go buy your magazines at the newsstand.
You say you pay for this tablet, but what about the price of the magazines you received?? Plus, they are delivered TO YOUR HOME FOR FREE, but everyone conveniently ignores that.
And if someone gives you a car as a gift, will you complain if it’s not a Rolls????
Anyway, apart from complaining about a gift that no one forced you to accept, what are you doing here??
Take your subscriptions for the magazines, not for the welcome gifts, you will have more serious reactions to provide. And if these gifts don’t satisfy you, give them to someone in need. At least they will know how to thank the donor with respect!!!

Not only did the tablet work for only a few minutes, but this is the second time I haven't received the newspaper and my emails remain unanswered by the subscription service of l'Obs, and the subscription service's phone number never answers: they are CROOKS. I will never subscribe to l'Obs again and better yet: I will never buy it again. And I will continue trying to contact them. If nothing happens, I will alert a consumer association. And they dare to complain about issues in print media: they should become serious and professional. Things would go better for them. They are the problem, not the internet.
