Hello,
I am having issues with my TomTom One GPS. First of all, I performed a reset hoping to free up some space to install an update (the update refused to install due to lack of space, only 1 GB available on this model). There is no reset button, so I just did the reset option in the GPS menu. I am facing two problems. The first is that it was in vain, of course. Before proceeding further, I wanted to back it up, but it is impossible because my "ephem" file is problematic. Upon opening it, two files have a "weird" format (squares instead of writing, and no dots!), which I cannot copy or cut, and I don't want to risk deleting them.
So first of all, where can I find what I need to put in their place?
Secondly, how can I free up space on my GPS? For instance, can I remove the entire Europe map to only keep the France map?
I hope I have been clear; I would appreciate your help!

Hello,
If there is a problem with this Ephem file, empty its contents.
Then make your backup. http://www.tomtomax.fr/forum/viewtopic.php?p=34311#p34311
Then you can delete what you will never use: foreign languages, icons, useless voices. (with Tomtom home--manage)
A reset: press and hold the power button.
If you want to remove the Europe map, do it with Tomtom home, and manage my go, you delete the map. BUT BE CAREFUL TO HAVE A PROPER BACKUP BEFORE ANY MANIPULATION, OTHERWISE... -
Thank you for your response. A mapshare update has got my GPS back on track; it was actually glitching more than ever and couldn't find a satellite. Anyway, thanks for the reset tips and for clearing space.
However, the ephem folder is stubborn; I cannot do a QUICKGPSFIX update because of those infamous files, and I can't touch them; I've never seen anything like it, I can't delete them! In fact, an error message says that the path is nonexistent or unfound, so the folder is corrupted, but the GPS is working properly again, and as they say, if it works, don't touch it!!
However, if you know how to delete "impossible to delete" files...

By connecting the GPS to the computer, go to 'My Computer', double-click on the GPS icon, double-click on the ephem folder and delete the files inside.
But BEFORE, MAKE A BACKUP, because in case of problems, it will be your only safety net..
