Hello,
In two months, I should be starting PTSI prep.
I would like to know what type of laptop is recommended.
I'm used to working on iOS, but some software isn't compatible (SolidWorks, ...). I would also like to know what different software I will be working with.
Thank you for your advice :)

Already for the recent versions of Solidworks, the specifications for graphics cards are Ati Firepro or Nvidia Quadro.
So I'm not sure it runs on a laptop...
In general, 3D design software works with the OpenGL standard from Silicon Graphics (compatible with Unix/Linux and MacOS), while consumer applications use Microsoft’s DirectX (only compatible with Windows).
So often you need "pro" graphics cards.
I advise you to wait until the start of the school year and to ask second-year students and teachers what to buy. Don't put the cart before the horse. -
