Have you properly configured your reader according to the type of barcode you want to read?
When you say nothing happens, does the wand beep when you try to scan?

Hello.

I am the IT technician responsible for installing a barcode scanner (douchette) in the BCDI software for school books. I also bought a Datalogic Touch 65 barcode scanner.

I can't get BCDI to communicate with the scanner; it works because I can read the barcodes, and there is a beep and the scan indicator light is green.

Then I also received only the USB cable but it seems that a cable to connect to the keyboard and a serial port connected to the computer are also missing.

The connection and operation of the barcode reader:
This peripheral is completely independent from BCDI: it reads the barcode and returns a sequence of characters exactly as if those characters had been typed on the keyboard. The scanner therefore plugs into the PC keyboard port (an adapter included with the scanner also allows connecting the keyboard, of course!), there are also models that connect to the serial port.
