Connect a headset + microphone with a single jack plug. Solved

Question

Hello, the problem I'm encountering today is that I just bought a headset (Atari Groove Noir) but it has a microphone and only one jack plug. I would like to use it, but the problem is that if I plug my headset into an audio output, the sound from my headset is fine, but the microphone doesn't work; conversely, if I plug it into an input, the microphone works but not very well and I get no sound.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

To bounce back on this old topic that is really relevant now.
As indicated by Bielle64 and Kayalis, we can now find WiiU headsets (among others) with this connection.

Hello,  Usually, headsets connect via two jack plugs or a USB port.  Are you sure it's meant for PCs?

In that case, you need an adapter to split the headphone-microphone jack into two jacks to make it compatible with PCs.

There is no microphone on this headset.  When you plug the headset into the mic jack and speak, it is the speakers that pick up the sound, which is why the quality is poor.

The new laptops have a single port for the microphone and headphones just like on a Mac.
So you can plug in your iPhone's headset + microphone.
Maybe your headset is compliant with this standard.

I have the opposite problem: my laptop has this type of single port, but my headset has two jack plugs and I can't find an adapter :/
