McAfee turns off by itself

Solved

Hello,

I have a license with my McAfee antivirus and a few days ago it deactivated itself: no matter how many times I clicked on "activate", nothing happened so I had no antivirus protection.
I'm not sure if it's related, but this happened after a normal restart of my PC, after it found a Trojan horse (which I have since removed via the antivirus). I searched online and in McAfee's help but found no solution other than reinstalling the software.
So once reinstalled everything was working fine, but since then I've had to go through the same process again because the problem returned, and once again today it deactivated itself...

Since reinstalling the software each time is not a sustainable solution, do you have any solution (other than changing antivirus, of course)?

I should mention that this is not a trial version, that on my McAfee internet account my PC appears as having an active license, I already scanned with Bitdefender and found nothing, I used the McAfee Virtual Technician software, and still nothing... I restarted the PC in safe mode: the software is still deactivated but when I click on "activate" the process starts, but since there is no internet access, it's absolutely useless.

I tend to believe this is due to the discovered Trojan horse but I've removed it!

Thank you for your help!

Configuration: Windows 7 / Safari 535.19

Hi, thanks for your help. Here’s the link https://www.cjoint.com/?3EmuhnMisIl

Can you explain to me exactly what it will do when you tell me to delete a particular line, etc.? I'm always a bit hesitant when I don't know what I'm doing, for fear of deleting important files or something like that, and then realizing that things don't work without being able to do anything about it... thanks

(and is there a way to make a backup, like a restore point, before messing with the PC...?)

    Good evening

So you are restoring to a point before your problem.

I can only choose one dining option that is only 2 days old, so it’s not far enough back in time. Given this limitation, are there any other ideas to solve my problem?

    Re

If; you back up your important data and restore as factory settings.

    See you later

Okay, so this is really the radical solution... I'm doing one last scan with Malwarebytes to see... and if there are any other ideas, I'm all ears!
    Thank you!

After running several analyses (detecting malware using a Microsoft tool as well), I found nothing special on my PC. I had to reinstall my McAfee software again, and for the past few days, it has been disabled again.

Aside from resetting the PC, does anyone have another solution?

    Good evening

And why don't you want to refresh your PC?
If you've backed up your important data, that's the best thing to do

Because even when saving the essentials, we still lose data. But I was able to contact McAfee support, who took care of it; it was apparently a conflict with remnants of an old antivirus.

    Hello

For more information, please do this

Open this link and download ZHPDiag from Nicolas Coolman:

    https://www.zebulon.fr/telechargements/securite/systeme/zhpdiag.html

    Or

    https://www.commentcamarche.net/telecharger/utilitaires/24803-zhpdiag/

    Or

    http://www.premiumorange.com/zeb-help-process/zhpdiag.html
at the bottom of the ZHP page with a version number.

Once the download is complete, unzip the obtained file and place ZHPDiag.exe on your Desktop.

Double-click on the icon to launch the program. Under Vista or Seven right-click "run as administrator"

Click on the magnifying glass to start the scan.

Let the tool work, it may take some time.

Close ZHPDiag at the end of the scan.

To send the report click on this link:

    http://pjjoint.malekal.com/

    https://www.cjoint.com/

Click on Browse and look for the directory where ZHPDiag is installed (usually C:\Program Files\ZHPDiag).

    Select the ZHPDiag.txt file.

Click on "Click here to upload the file".

    A link like this:
