Hello,

I'm reaching out to you because I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to computers!

Earlier, I tried to install the game "Age of Empires" on my desktop computer, but the CD-ROM didn't auto-run, so I double-clicked on the DVD/CD drive icon, and I got an error message:

D:/ application not found

If you could help me with simple terms and explanations, that would be very kind of you!!

Best regards

Configuration: Windows Vista / Firefox 3.6.28

Good evening, press the keys on the keyboard Windows+R and type D: followed by the Enter key, you should go directly to the contents of the CD. To start the installation of the game, click on the file Setup.exe
However, if you get the same error message, it means that your CD is damaged and needs to be replaced.

This error message indicates that there is no disk in the drive, or it is not the correct letter. Launch This PC, right-click on the correct drive, then click on Explore/Open.

I have the impression that it's your player that is having trouble reading this CD; try putting in another CD to see if it works or not.

I just tried with a DVD (movie)
with a music album (original, not a burned one)
and with the installation CD for my Wi-Fi key

and the result is the same :/

So I conclude that it's your DVD player that has just failed, two solutions are available to you: either clean it with a cleaning CD sold commercially, or replace it entirely.

Hello,

On a a tower it's easy, but be sure to check if it's an IDE or SATA connection before investing.

For a Samsung in SATA, you can expect to pay around €30.

But if you're really panicking about changing it, get an external USB drive.
