Hello,

I just bought a Philips LED screen model 40PFL5206H with 100Hz PMR technology. My problem is as follows: when I play with the PS3, there is such a delay that it becomes unplayable! What should I do?

Thank you for your replies.

    Hello,

1-Yes, I am connected via HDMI to my PS3 with a 1.4 cable with gold or gold-plated connectors.

2-The PS3 resolution of 1080p is the same as for the TV (reminder of the model 40pfl5206h 1080p full HD LED).

Try in "Auto" mode on the PS3

The resolution on Sony goes into Auto mode.

In the video settings menu of the PS3, set the resolution to "Auto" mode.

Try "True Motion" on low or off.

There is no true motion mode in the menus, making it impossible to disable or reduce this mode.

    Hello,

To assist you, can you please provide the following information:

1- Are you connected via HDMI or is your PS3 directly connected to your TV using another type of cable?
2- Do the resolutions of the PS3 match the resolutions of your TV?

    Hello Marc,

To better assist you, could you please provide me with the following additional information:

1-Do you notice the delay only on FIFA 12 or also on other games?
2-Do you play online or from your PS3?
3-Can you specify the software version of your TV?
For updating the software version of your TV, you can click on this link: https://www.philips.fr/c-p/40PFL5206H_12/5000-series-televiseur-led-avec-pixel-plus-hd/aide
    4. Please also ensure that the software version of your PS3 is up to date.

    Best regards,

1- I notice this lag with quick movements, FIFA 12, Battlefield 3, but the most bothersome is on FIFA.

2- I play from my PS3 and online (the PS3 allows online play)

      3- Software version: TPM62E 2.20
      PQ flash version V0.07 110808

My PS3 is up to date, and my problem is not unique; many players have this issue of motion blur with quick movements. Another point is that a clouding effect is quite pronounced on a black screen!!! Maybe I'm being too picky, but I had far fewer issues with my old Philips CRT monitor as well.

Hello, in case of a problem, it is advisable to set the TV to game mode, disable all image enhancements on the TV, such as Pixel+ etc., especially Natural Motion. This applies to all external sources that have their own image enhancement as well. If that doesn’t help, disconnect the TV antenna that may cause interference, and if all else fails, check for updates on the PS and then on the TV.

I've tried everything, but nothing works; my eyes will eventually get used to it...

I don’t think that unplugging the antenna can have an impact on the technical characteristics of the TV.

Funny ideas. A TV is still a TV and the responsiveness in this range of products is not the best. Unplug the antenna?!!!! A PS3 just works, that's all there is to it.

To reduce the "clouding" effect, you can lower the backlight, adjust the brightness and contrast, and keep it at 60Hz. Finally, screens have varying levels of persistence; the so-called game mode is often useless. A well-calibrated TV is the solution; sometimes you can find settings made by people with a calibration probe online. What's interesting is Philips' response, which is completely off the mark.

The clouding effect is not annoying but well.... there is no way to adjust the frequency on this TV, I was sold on it being 100Hz but it's "false" 100Hz, I'm disappointed about that too. Anyway, salespeople are not what they used to be! Thank you for your response, I'm going to look around a bit and thank you for taking the time to search.

In the manual, you'll find the HD Natural Motion Clear LCD 100 Hz settings; turn everything off or set it to low, same with the picture contour. For the backlight, set it to the lowest possible. Most TVs have these types of image correction settings, which generally have the opposite effect. Try cinema or standard mode, and if necessary, switch to custom mode, adjusting according to the setting you like the most.
