Hello,
I recently renewed a Xbox Live subscription and I quickly noticed that it lagged a lot, really, really a lot. I didn’t understand because I had already had 1 month free some time before and everything was fine, …and now it’s failing to the point of smashing my head against a window. But I discovered that when my brother was on his PC it would fail, whereas in the early morning or late evening everything was fine… So I think it’s my brother. But I have other evidence:
- When I had my free month my brother had just left for 2 months in Spain
- When I wanted to secure the network my brother couldn’t connect and I wasn’t lagging… but not, not at all.
So it’s decided, my brother is eating my connection. The only problem is that I asked him if he was downloading, …in short, anything that could eat the connection. Sometimes yes he downloads but most of the time no! He clearly told me that he doesn’t download at all, …which means that just the fact that he connects to the modem would make everything bugger up! So yeah I tried 3 other Ethernet cables and that’s not the problem… Before when I was gaming on my PC and my brother wasn’t downloading, I played quietly (without wire). So in short there are 2 of us on the network and everything bugs. … euuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu … FALSE!
My mother can connect wirelessly without it bugging, … plus the neighbor, my father-in-law, my sister, the iPad, … we can be 5 on the network it works! But when my brother connects… just him… well… we crash our faces against the glass.
So I would need a small idea from you, renowned internet users, to fix this strange phenomenon.
Sincerely, but… really, really sincerely,
MrTheMolode.
Thank you for your understanding.

Dear,
you don’t need to download to lag you...
if he watches a movie on YouTube that might be enough...
Just turn on his PC and see if you lag, if you do, there is a problem (maybe the PC is infected by a virus that sends a mass of emails?)
If you don’t lag with just the PC on, it’s that your brother is lying or he’s doing something that consumes the connection (and not the connection)
