Hello,
I bought a Bigben RR30 alarm clock for my daughter, I didn't keep the manual, and we can't seem to turn the alarm on! We can set everything, time, alarm time, radio, sleep, but it's impossible to turn the alarm on. If someone can help me that would be really cool! I visited the Bigben website but there's no support for this product.
Configuration: Windows 7 / Internet Explorer 9.0

I am the manager of the Bigben Interactive community.
After consulting our audio team, here is the instructions for setting the alarm on the RR30:
- Press the 'Alarm Set' button in the top right corner
- Set the alarm to the desired time.
- Press the 'BAND MODE' button on the right side. This will display either an 'OFF', 'ON', or 'BUZZ' on the screen.
- Press 'ALARM SET' again until you return to the time display.
- You will see the word 'ALARM' on the screen along with the function you have chosen.

I just came back from Toys 'R' Us for the same issue, thinking that our problem was isolated to one device. We wanted to exchange the item but to test it first and unfortunately, it was the same.... Indeed, the sound at maximum is just unbearable in the morning... The seller was surprised himself because no one had come to complain before us...... I’m also looking forward to an answer to this question....

I see that I'm not the only one with this issue of an extremely loud radio alarm... I thought my alarm clock was faulty...
It's indeed extremely annoying to wake up in these conditions. Every morning, I startle awake and jump out of bed to stop this cacophony. It's really a shame because the design of this device is nice and its use is very simple. I really hope that Fabien will let us know if it's possible to fix this problem...

Same issue at Christmas on redoute.fr and they exchanged it for me, and today I receive the same alarm clock with the same problem... don't tell me they don't know about the issue with this clock!!!! They need to be careful during exchanges!!!!!

I had the same issue as all of you here, I bought a BIGBEN alarm clock at LECLERC a week ago and the alarm sound was extremely loud, I called the BIGBEN website (phone number online) and a very friendly person told me to return it, which I did and they took it back. I went to buy another one at CONFORAMA (apparently their stock turns over faster so they didn’t have any old models left) and there was joy for my son, they had the new model where you can adjust the sound, so it’s nothing like the other one.
So don’t hesitate and get your old model exchanged and find another one.
We tried the alarm clock on-site, so no surprises when getting home.

Hello, I just bought a Big Ben alarm clock and apparently the manufacturing date is April 2013. I imagine that my alarm clock is part of the new improved version in terms of sound when waking up to the radio? However, I find it a bit loud—how do I adjust the volume to be lower when waking up to the radio? I lowered the volume once the radio was turned on at the desired time, thinking it would be saved, but when it rang again shortly after, the volume was not at the desired level?? Is this an older version or what is the method to achieve a lower sound if it is part of the new version?? I hope I have been clear because it’s not easy to explain the problem in writing. The REVERSE button is no longer available on the new versions of the alarm clock; however, I would like to draw your attention to the fact that the projection is wall-mounted and not ceiling-mounted.
To see the time the right way, you just need to position the projector facing you. The projection should be the right way on the wall in front of you.

I can’t get alarm1, alarm2, or alarm1+2 to display on the screen, so it won’t ring! I’ve selected alarm 1 at the back of the clock, but it doesn’t even show up on the screen. Does anyone have a magic solution, please? Thanks!

Same problem, impossible to adjust the alarm volume. I've sent 3 emails to BigBen without any response. So I searched online and ended up here.
Given the date of the first reports of this issue in this post, I understand why they’re burying their heads in the sand...
They must not have tested their product; it's not possible that this wasn't detected before it was put on sale, and it's even worse to continue selling them knowing about this problem.
I didn't know this brand, and it seems like one of those products that only look appealing. Just to be seen on store shelves...
The solution for me -> waste disposal. (I didn't test the alarm when I bought it because the deal with the kids was to start using it from May, after the holidays, and they were bought well before that. For a while, I thought it was my fault for not testing the alarm at purchase, but actually, no, it's the manufacturer's fault for selling an untested/unfinished product.)

I bought this alarm clock in December 2013 and I've been facing this sound issue reported on this site for a year now!!! It activates at volume 15 even though I set it to 1 before going to bed. Why haven’t the defective items been removed from sale? No respect for the customer.

It’s 2015 and I bought an alarm clock with my pocket money, and I have the same problem as many people—the sound is a bit too loud, and unfortunately, you can’t adjust the volume...

It's a scam, the Big Ben alarm clocks... My daughter's worked for about 2 or 3 weeks and then the touch screen went haywire... The time stays displayed at the set time, you have to press the alarm for the real time to show... The alarm can't be set anymore... 24.90 thrown out the window... What a bummer... and they keep selling defective products...

All three broke down after 13 months, and out of warranty, Bigben's technical service didn't want to know anything. At €29.90 for an alarm clock that lasts a year, it's truly disrespectful. Bigben does have its headquarters in France, but the service is completely lacking. So run, dear people, for €30 SONY or PHILIPS make very nice alarm clocks that work very well and last a long time...

Retailers such as stores or supermarkets mix their stocks without paying much attention. We cannot know which model is new or old since they are mixed.
However, a small test in the store can help you make your choice. Explain the issue to the department manager of the store of your choice and ask to test the alarm clock before buying it.

Hello, I can set the alarm but the problem is there's no sound; I see the bell flashing on the screen but no sound is coming out. The radio sound works perfectly fine, nothing unusual, the real issue is the alarm sound.

There are two brightness modes on the RR30 alarm clock.
When you press the "DIM" button on the left side of the screen, you activate one or the other.
If this button doesn't work, there may be a loose connection. In that case, you can request a replacement for malfunction from your retailer.
