Hello,
I created an Open Office Writer file to write text. I wanted to start the first words of my file with a title. However, I encountered a problem where the text color automatically changed to a color I didn't want (orange) when I wanted black! So I selected the beginning of my text and clicked on the arrow of the Font Color icon and initially chose automatic then black: this brought me back to the same problem. The software changes my cursor to look like the fill icon from Paint. I click anywhere to continue but nothing changes! After researching online, I was able to fix this problem (at least I think so because I did the opposite of what they advised...). Another issue is that my text automatically gets underlined while I'm writing even though the Underline icon is not even activated! I searched in the options, selected my text, then underline/ununderline but nothing works! I looked online for a solution to my problem by typing into Google: 'open office automatically underlines text' but I only found topics on underlining when the user makes a spelling mistake (automatic correction, wavy underline in red) but also underlining hyperlinks (underlined in blue). I'm waiting for your advice so I can start my text file under good conditions.
Thank you for your understanding and your future responses.
Jason.

Ouch, I did what you're describing in the image but it doesn't work: I still have my automatic underline. The instructions you're giving me in the image have already been done in my software and I still have the text underlined :s.
