My Coolpix S3000 won't take photos anymore

Hello,
I have a problem, my device is not taking photos anymore. When I press the button to take a photo, the frame turns red as well as the flash button, it beeps twice and no photo is taken. Your help would be appreciated. Thank you

Configuration: Windows Vista / Internet Explorer 8.0

    Is there a memory card in the device? Is it not full or write-protected?
