Ok, but I tried to go back to SFR to check 'unlock my card' as you described here, but it no longer recognizes my ID since I am no longer with SFR, so what should I do???

I had the same problem when I introduced my Free SIM card into my mobile today. I was no longer under contract with Bouygues, my phone was well over 3 months old, and the Free website said that I had no steps to take with my former operator... Well, that's false.
I went back to the Bouygues website and in the customer area, in the "my mobile" section, they offered "unlock my SIM card or my mobile." Then all I had to do was follow the instructions :-).
Once the process was completed, my mobile worked.
I hope it works for you too!

"Free's site said that I didn't have to do anything"
No steps for cancellation, not to unlock your phone!

Good evening, insert the card several times; if your old card has left its imprint, it sometimes happens that the contacts don't find their place.
Otherwise, activate your card on another mobile and then insert it back into yours.

Hello,
I have exactly the same problem with my Sony Ericsson, and it's not a phone lock issue because I have a phone that has never been locked. Moreover, I have already switched operators once with this phone (from SFR to zéroForfait, and I didn't have any issues with the zéro Forfait SIM card.
This is the second time Free has sent me a SIM card, and it still doesn't work, with that stupid message "insert correct SIM card"...
If anyone has a solution!
I will try again tomorrow but on another phone, and I'll keep you updated.

For several models of Sony Ericsson phones (if the phone is locked), when the message "Insert correct SIM card" appears, press left ** left then OK and Network to enter the unlock code.
Note: for the V800, left = left arrow and OK is located in the middle of the gamepad.

Thank you for the information that is still relevant for unlocking my old Sony.

Hello everyone,
I have the same issue as all of you and I believe the problem comes from the new-generation chip which is much smaller than the older ones that are much larger.
The contacts in the chip socket do not match. This is just a personal observation from comparing an old chip and the new chip, which visually shows that the two chips are far from identical;
That’s my personal opinion based on the comparison.
Best regards

A BIG thank you to Michel1969, I unlocked my phone thanks to the left**left. I can now take advantage of my new free plan with my good old Sony Ericsson!!!

To unlock your Sony, press to the left of the central button on your phone and then click on * then select network and enter the unlock code obtained from your previous operator. I just did it and it works.

I have the same problem with a Sony Ericsson "f305s" that I would like to use because it's more powerful, but I can't unlock it due to the message "insert correct SIM card." I'm looking for a solution?
The SIM card works with my old SAGEM mobile.

I couldn't find a solution, so I ended up buying myself a new phone, the cheapest one on the Free website, which isn't great, to be honest. I miss my Sony Ericsson!

According to a response from Sony Ericsson, you need to unlock the mobile by reinserting an "active" operator card and following the unlocking procedure; I haven't tried it yet, so I can't tell you if it works.

Hello. I also have a similar problem with a Sony Ericsson Spiro W100I. Let me explain:
I have a Virgin Mobile SIM card that I just received, and I wanted to put it in the Sony Ericsson, a phone THAT A FRIEND GAVE ME WHICH WAS WITH VIRGIN LAST YEAR, so this phone has already worked with a Virgin SIM for a year, and it was Virgin Mobile themselves who provided him with this phone at the time, so, theoretically, there's nothing to unlock...
Well, when I insert the SIM card, after entering the code 0000, there is about a 7-second pause and then I get the message 'insert correct SIM card'.
I should point out that I deliberately tried to enter an incorrect PIN code, and the phone indicates that my code is erroneous (which is normal), so I deduce that there is at least a minimum of communication of information passing between the chip and the phone.
I should also mention that this new line was activated via the internet, and moreover, it works perfectly in another phone (from Orange! What a twist!!!)
I am perplexed!
If anyone knows what I should do, I thank you in advance.
Sincerely.

I confirm that Michel1969's solution works perfectly on my Sony Ericsson K300i!
The phone was purchased a little over 7 years ago from SFR, I switched to Leclerc Mobile in February 2010 (without needing to unlock it) and yesterday to Free Mobile.
In my case, I was able to get the NCK number by calling 1023 (SFR customer service).

Hello.
I am switching from Virgin Mobile to Free and I'm getting the same error message as you.
I tried Michel 1969's solution but it doesn't work, I get the following message: Forbidden.
The number I entered is the unlocking number of my mobile.
Did I do the right operation, please?
Thank you for your help.
Best regards.

Hello,

I've just encountered the same problem! It took me a total of 10 minutes to resolve it: I just had to call the Orange support service, my previous operator, so we could unlock the phone together.

Best regards.

I have the same issue with a Sony Ericsson even though I haven't canceled any account; it's a new line creation. Therefore, it's not a problem with SFR, Orange, or anyone else.

Il faut désimlock votre téléphone. Pour cela, voir avec votre opérateur.

Hello.
I had the same problem when leaving Virgin Mobile for Free.
I tried to unlock my phone with the number that Virgin Mobile had given me.
But it didn't work because the manufacturer of my phone (Sony Ericsson) had provided a wrong unlocking number.
I contacted the technicians at Virgin Mobile and they took steps with Sony Ericsson.
I waited for 10 days, they got back to me with the new number and there it was, perfect.
Did you manage to unlock your phone?
