Renew DHCP lease

Hello,
I am currently subscribed to a satellite Internet offer with a specialized operator. Everything works perfectly, except one thing: connection stability. In fact, the Internet often disconnects.
I have contacted customer service several times, they told me to follow steps: check the satellite dish orientation, check the proper functioning of the cables, and the modem seems to be working fine. After several operations, the advisor said it might be the version of the operating system on my computer (Windows XP SP2) which seems too “old.” It would then be too slow to renew the DHCP lease. I was advised to try with a computer running a newer OS... Not necessarily easy to implement since I only have one machine.
So in summary here is my question: is it possible to renew the DHCP lease manually to avoid several tens of minutes or even a few hours of outages each time?
Thank you for any responses,
Best regards.
Configuration: Windows XP / Firefox 8.0.1

To renew the DHCP lease manually:
Windows R > there is a dialog window that appears > type cmd > the Command Prompt appears > type: ipconfig /release > press Enter > type: ipconfig /renew -
Thank you for your response.
I had already seen this method in previous topics. I tested it, but it doesn’t seem to want to work. It’s probably not coming from there... I’ll contact them again if that’s the only method. -
Hi
What kind of hardware do you use to connect to the internet? A simple modem? A modem/router?
Brand? Model?
How is the connection between it and your PC set up? -
Hello,
This is a simple modem from the TOOWAY (ViaSat) brand, model RM4100. Here is the name: Residential Satellite Modem Surfbeam 2.
Regarding the link between the modem and the PC, it is a wired Ethernet connection. -
What do the Status, RX, TX, and LAN indicators look like when you have the problem?
-
In general this is what it does:
Rx flashes then stabilizes
Tx flashes for a few seconds then goes out and returns to Rx flashing
LAN is off.
Otherwise, it sometimes happens:
Rx on solid
Tx flashes
LAN off.
In the second case, the outage lasts only a few minutes. -
