METRONIC 498140 Satellite Dish

Hello, I am about to purchase an antenna ref 498140 from the Metronic brand. Does anyone know this kind of equipment? Has anyone made the purchase and are they satisfied? Would you advise me to continue with this purchase? Or on the contrary, should I avoid it? Thank you for your response. Best regards

    Good evening, this satellite antenna has good performance but do not expect it to do everything like a classic 80cm dish equipped with a good receiving head.
    This antenna has only one output for a single decoder; if you want to connect a second decoder: impossible, you will then have to buy a second dish.
    Advantage of a classic dish: you can change the receiving head whenever you want, without also changing the antenna, and for example, attach a twin head with two independent outputs to power 2 decoders aiming at the same satellite, or even three or four.
    The Metronic is good but not expandable, and its equivalent diameter classic dish is smaller (60 cm).
    In satellite reception, an 80 cm dish for Astra or Atlantic Bird is a minimum, especially during heavy rain and for good reception of HD channels located at the top of the frequency band used for satellite reception (this is the case for Astra).
    90 cm is ideal for your reception comfort.

      Error: the parabolic equivalent of this antenna is 50cm (manufacturer data): that seems a bit tight!

    The Metronic is not technologically a flat antenna but a parabolic one... a real planar antenna can be found at Selfsat.... my neighbor bought this Metronic at Brico Leclerc and is satisfied, but during the violent storms, which are quite rare and don't last long, the screen goes black... there's nothing to do, even with an 80 cm dish...
