Orange / Recocash, ghost invoice?

Hello,

I don't know if I'm in the right forum, hoping I'm not mistaken...

I have been an Orange customer for several years for my mobile and have never had any problems with them. Today, a company called "Recocash" contacted me and insisted that I pay by phone a sum of €90 that supposedly corresponds to an unpaid invoice. They are asking for the 16 digits of my credit card, the expiration date, and the 3 digits, which I refuse to provide. I have not received any official letter from them and I do not know them!

I checked my invoices: I have never received this one. I usually pay by bank transfer, and Orange knows well how to take action when there is an exceeding of the plan... so I tried to contact Orange's customer service to understand this call and this missing invoice. Customer service cannot provide me with any information and redirects me to the collections department... whose contact details they refuse to give me!

Following this call, I re-contact the collection agency and learn that they sent a letter to an old address (Orange knows my new address) and that this invoice dates back to November 2011 (I left the accommodation in June 2011 and took all necessary steps with Orange/France Telecom at that time).

So now I am a bit lost and don't really know what to do... I requested a new letter, with a copy of the Orange mandate and the disputed invoice which should arrive in a few days.
Has anyone been in this situation? What was your solution?

There is a 95% chance that this is a scam attempt.
According to a Google search, Recocash is a debt collection company, so they have no power.
If you haven't received anything from Orange regarding unpaid bills, it means you have nothing.

I have just received a demand to pay the amount of 1411.02 euros under the threat of legal proceedings. However, the only month and a few days of communication with Orange that I know of date back to the end of August and September, with the line being terminated at the end of September. I must mention here that I took out a subscription for 89 euros, including theft or loss insurance.

I must mention here that I already have a history with Orange. A landline service was opened at a private residence in my name. I received the bill for payment, which included the phone number, even though I had previously alerted the members of the said company, namely Orange. They have engaged a bailiff... END OF QUOTE

    Thank you for these answers!

I checked my invoices and nothing of that sort appears...

I (re)contacted the Orange services (after 3 calls, I finally spoke to a friendly person who was willing to do their job...) She contacted the accounting department who believes that I am in order with my invoices. I am sending a registered letter to their accounting services in Bordeaux this evening for more "official" information regarding this story, as the operator acknowledges that she has no information on them but that Orange works well with Recocash for collections...

In any case, thank you, and if anyone has any other information, feel free to share!

I have the same issue as you... I subscribed to UFC Que Choisir... Here is their number 02040120743, they are legal experts who will respond to you. I have an appointment on April 17th and I will ask them to file a report and a claim for the amount of 396.80 euros that I paid at the beginning and that they keep demanding from me... good luck and take care; ... contact them and do not respond under any circumstances.

    Hello..
Make sure you have settled (Transfers, checks cashed, etc.) the invoices for a period covering, for example, the last 6 months..
Only deal with Orange, never with underlings like RECOTRASH.. Always do it by registered mail with acknowledgment of receipt...
    See you later.
