Hello exla,
indeed I have the problem with the phrase "The boot selection has failed because a required device is inaccessible"
I'm in the same situation with my PC, and here's what is noted on my startup page:

"Windows failed to start. A recent software change might be the cause of this issue. To fix the problem:
1. Insert the Windows installation disc and restart your computer.
2. Choose your language settings and click "Next"
3. Click "Repair your computer".
If you don't have this disc, contact your system administrator or your computer manufacturer for assistance.
Status: 0xc000000e
Info: The boot selection has failed because a required device is inaccessible"

As for the address http://images.pcastuces.com/mode_sans_echec_01.gif yes I can get there, except that even when I choose "safe mode" I automatically return to the page above.
So if a solution is possible I await the response because I would like to avoid reformatting and losing everything, do you understand?

Good evening,

test the PC with a live CD of Ubuntu, and try to recover your data

http://www.vista-xp.fr/forum/topic2618.html

if it works with the live CD, you have a problem with Windows, or at worst with the hard drive
note that the live CD works with the PC's RAM, so there is no need to install it on the hard drive.

Be careful not to install Ubuntu, but click on try Ubuntu.
