The zip format is an archive format. Do you have a reference to say that it can work?

Indeed, in this case, it is not bad to mention the reference or provide the link.

Changing the file extension does not alter the actual format of the file. You can sometimes open it with a different program than the one used to create the document, but generally, it is not usable.
