Hello,

when opening Windows, a window appears indicating a failure. Here is a copy-paste of the message:

MPREXE caused a page fault in
the module <unknown> at 0000:829e656d.

I can close the window without any problem, but I notice that my internet browser (Explorer) is very slow.

How can I fix this issue?

Thank you for your help, I should mention that I don't know much about computers. I look forward to your responses.

Hello,

Look at this: http://inquirer.philly.com/newsroom/faq/pages/fdb7df9-70.html

I'm not sure it fully matches your problem, but it's neither long nor complicated.

If you have difficulty with English, I will translate.

Bye.

Thank you for your response,

I also found this on the Microsoft website, I will tell you what is happening. I go to Start, Search, then I type *.pwl and click on Search Now. But there are no items displayed in the preview. Is it normal that I don't have a .pwl file?

Yes, if you do not save the passwords.
No, otherwise. Unless you have not chosen to display hidden files and this file is part of it.

I did another search for .pwl files (I made a mistake earlier by selecting drive E:) on C: and D:.

There was only one file (the one for logging into my session, I believe). I deleted it and restarted the computer. Still the same message.

Do you have any other solutions to suggest?

Since no one was able to help me (except JMP59, whom I thank again for his attempt), I had to manage on my own, and in the end, that's how you learn the most. It was an Internet Explorer browser issue.

In settings, control panel, I went to Add/Remove programs, I selected Internet Explorer and clicked. The window offered me either to repair or to reinstall the previous version (which I chose). After restarting the computer, no more messages, so for now, it's working.

I mention all this in case someone has the same issue.

It was an IE issue... but in the end, you don't know which one!!! lol
These are the mysteries of Windows
