Connecting a "very" old console to an LCD TV

Question

I have a CBS Colecovision console with a SCART connection since 1986, and it works very well with both SECAM and PAL cartridges. However, I've recently switched to an LCD TV, and I can't get the console to work on it (a gray screen appears). On the other hand, if I connect it to my "good old" tube TV in my bedroom, there are no issues. Apparently, I'm not the only one facing this, as after browsing several forums, "retro gamers" have encountered the same problems with CBS Coleco or Atari 2600. Has anyone managed to get this type of console (CBS or Atari) to work on an LCD TV? How did you do it?

There are cables or peripherals that can amplify; I had the same issue and bought a new cable, and it worked. Ask at the store, they will advise you.

Well, I guess I will still keep my tube TV, and I wanted to put an LCD in the bedroom to save space... Of course, I have the emulator for this console that runs very well on my PC, but it's not the same as using the console, with its controllers with big buttons, its steering wheel (yes, it already existed)... Ah yes, on this console the cartridges were PAL or SECAM (and yes, there was SECAM), whereas today it’s PAL or NTSC.

Thank you for your response. My TV supports all standards. But I think it must be a question of analog signals that may not be supported by "less tolerant" LCD TVs. This weekend, I will take apart the SCART connector and indicate the pinout...

When you say "gray screen," are you talking about a black and white image? Do a Google search for: "RGB video," "composite video," "S-video." That way you will know how a video signal is composed.

I don't think it's possible unless you find an adapter that allows you to connect the SCART to the antenna socket of your TV.

Regarding the PAL/SECAM standard, consoles only recognize PAL and NTSC, and your screen must support all three standards. Could you take a picture of the male SCART connector disassembled to show which signals are wired?
