Where are my smartphone backup data stored?

Hello, Android smartphone (Samsung). The backup feature is enabled.

From my PC --> my Google account --> my storage space.

I find an item named Device backup (21MB). What is it? How can I view the contents of this item?

There is also an item Other that takes up 1.2GB. I would like to access it to decide whether to keep it or not.

Thank you for your help and recommendations.

Regards

    Hello everyone.

@Melinos StatusMember, if you’re still there, you should check where you activate/deactivate the backup (native phone feature or installed app), if you can change the destination of these files to be backed up (after creating a dedicated directory for this), so you could find it more easily next time.

      Hello,

      It is indeed incorrect.

The Others folder contains, as its name indicates, everything that cannot be classified into the other categories, essentially cache data from apps (which can be very heavy if there are many, if they are resource-intensive like games, or more or less by nature for videos) but not all app data and no app itself, so certainly not a backup of the phone which is not necessarily easy to perform... except on Samsung where you just need to make a Smart Switch copy to a computer.

        Hi again,

It's true that it's a catch-all folder and it contains backups, hence the personal data are stored elsewhere.

Afterwards, perhaps you, Melinos, found what you were looking for there.
