Restore old Facebook profile picture Solved/Closed

Question

Hello, I would like to set an old profile picture on my Facebook account without losing my "likes" and comments, but I don't know how to do it. I click on "set as profile picture" but they ask me to crop it, and I automatically lose all my "likes" and comments. If anyone knows how to do it... Thank you in advance, kisses, Marie. WELL LISTEN UP EVERYONE!! Or read everyone, I should say lol here’s the solution. You first need to go to the profile picture album (grid view), right-click on the photo you want to set as your profile picture, select "open in a new tab," and that way you avoid the "slideshow" view. You'll get the good old display from back in the day, and from there you can select "Set as profile picture" and that’s it! It's silly but that's all there is to it... have a great day!

No, I did try cropping several times, but it’s as if I had added a photo that wasn't on Facebook. The thing is, the photo I want to use is my old profile picture, which is already on Facebook, and they're asking me to crop it. Isn't there a way? (:

I have the same problem as you. With the update to the Facebook "slideshow", we can no longer set old photos as our profile picture without losing something; we have to crop them.  I would like to know if there is a solution, but I think it’s more of an update issue.  @Pat730, I'm reminding you that we’re not asking for your opinion on others' wants/needs on this forum, but simply for help. You who think you know everything, either you find solutions or you refrain from giving your (useless) opinion.  Thank you.

Does anyone know if it's possible to move a photo from another album to the profile pictures album?

At the beginning, go to your wall and you'll see a little “+” next to your picture! Then you click on it and it says “choose from album” or something like that, then you click and you'll see all your profile pictures, then you click on the picture you want and that's it! Don't worry, your “Likes” and comments won't go away ;) add me on fb: Ezo Kusaksis

It's all good, I found it! If you want to set an old profile picture as your current profile picture while keeping the same number of likes and leaving the comments, you first need to be on a computer. I couldn't do it on mobile... So anyway, when you're on your computer: Go to your current profile picture Go to: Album, then choose your old profile picture. Click on it (Normally there will be something written like: "Are you sure you want to use this picture that has already been your profile picture?") You click "yes" Then normally everything is sorted! You have the same number of likes and comments! I hope I helped you ;)  YoWelcome:) at your service ;)
