Delete the account homegroupuser$

Hello,
I typed control userpassword2 in the run dialog on my computer, and I noticed there were two accounts, mine (Alice) and another named homegroupuser$.
My question is the following: what is homegroupuser? I understood that it is an account for sharing files with members of your home network, but I have no use for it. So, can I delete this account? Are there any risks of losing data?

    There's no point in deleting it (I'm not sure it's even possible). You'll be glad the day you want to use this function (multimedia sharing with a box or between PCs, it's quite easy to do all that now).
    Why do you want to delete this account in the first place?
