I recently bought a Toshiba with Windows 7, and upon restarting my PC, I received this message: "Check cable connection! PXE-MOF: Exiting Intel PXE ROM ...". I don't have a recovery CD (I didn't think I would need one), and I don't know what to do. Can someone help me?

Hello,
The error message comes from the boot device on the LAN (which allows the PC to boot via the RJ45 cable), so if you don't have a cable plugged in, you'll receive an error message (note that this type of booting is unnecessary for individuals).
In short, your PC is trying to boot this way because it cannot boot from the hard drive or the CD drive.
Check that you still have access to the hard drive (check at startup, it should display at the bottom of the commands, press the key corresponding to "boot menu" and look at the proposed devices, the hard drive is denoted by "WDC" with plenty of characters behind it).

Do you have an option to initiate the restore from the hard drive (the "Quick restore" or "Factory restore" instruction at startup)? Check the manual to make sure.
If such a function exists, you can attempt it. Otherwise, you'll need to completely reinstall your system using a Windows installation disk.
It can’t be said enough, but you should always create restore disks as soon as you first use the PC.
