no msn has nothing to do with it!!!
What antivirus/firewall do you have?
Do you have a suite (bit defender)? Are you using explorer, mozilla, or opera?
Which version of Windows do you have, SP1 or SP2?
Download this and go to report and do a full report that you paste in your reply... (you should have a complete report with your software)

Well, I'll be honest, my specialty is hardware and your problem is beyond me, so if you posted it elsewhere, someone might be able to help you!
I'm sorry, post it in an internet forum and if you're asked to check your viruses, post afterwards in the virus/security forum!
Good luck!
;)

But why?
about just like I have:
WDC WD 200EB 00CSFO 18 GB IDE.
for me, apart from 18 GB, the rest is gibberish.
I saw on eBay a 40 GB hard drive going for only €20.
but if I get even a new one (€60 for immediate purchase).
how do we do it: do we add it or replace the old one? and
for Windows XP installed, I don't have the CD?
WELL, if you have the time and there's no rush, thanks again for the excellent communication
see you later
note: anyway I will ask the question on hardware, thanks again

WDC is Western Digital the brand...
But for second-hand hard drives, unless you see them working... Anyway. ;)
To set it as a slave in your tower, there are 2 ways (jumper on the HDD according to the diagram) or you can buy an external case and then set it as a master (only if you have USB2 or FireWire!!!)
Now for the purchase of the hard drive, it’s about €1 per GB (except for those over 120 GB)
https://www.ldlc.com/
But then I don’t know your setup!!!! :D Seriously, go back to information systems and on the first page (system summary) copy everything and then go to components/storage/disc...

Hi,
what are we doing about the hard drive because I would like to change it; (I've classified: problem solved) do we continue on this software forum or should I go to the hardware forum?

Indeed, given your configuration, it changes everything!
Well, up to 40 GB your motherboard will recognize the hard drives, but after that, you'll probably need to flash the BIOS!
Now your configuration is very light for XP... You need at least 512 MB of RAM and you have 384... So bugs and lags, unfortunately, that's normal...
And for your memory, put the one closest to the processor first and the furthest one second (put the 256 MB one first...) because it's better...
If you want to buy more, here are the models you can use (not the brand even if it's good ;)

I have 1 stick 128(133)
1 " " 256(133)
1 " " 64(100)=in place but it doesn't show up and it was the only one originally.
If I add; eBay model (below) finally exp:
this kind of sticks is suitable:
1 stick of 256MB SDram PC133
Double-sided, 8 chips/side, DIMM format, 168 pins. Only high-quality sticks (Micron, Toshiba, etc...). No No-Name
In perfect condition of course!!! (tested with Memtest) This stick is also perfectly recognized by motherboards based on Intel BX chipsets like the Asus P3B-F, Abit BE6/BH6/BX6, Gigabyte GA-BX2000/2000+, etc... and Intel i810 chipsets like the Asus CUWE for example.

No, you have 384 MB of memory, namely DIMM 1 64 MB, DIMM 2 64 MB, DIMM 3 256, and you should put DIMM 3 in place of 1, and the link is special for your motherboard!!!

Well, it's simple for memory access in your case: DIMM 1 is 256, DIMM 2 is 128, DIMM 3 is either nothing or 64... DIMM is printed in very small letters on the motherboard, but strangely, the Everest report!!!

It seems to me:
when I set them up, I had arranged them according to a Google tech site: I'll check.
By the way, I bought two other sticks before the 256 on eBay:
PC 133 128MB SDRAM..
TF:S/N:29127..WARRANTY VOID IF REMOVED..1.2.3.4.5.6....
NO 243 SMGH2A0041.
They are no-name, what does that mean: did I get ripped off?
Anyway, if I buy another 128 133, will that work?

ftp://ftp.biostar-usa.com/manuals/M7MKA/M7MKAmanual.pdf
It is true that on page 1-25 the manual recommends 64-64-256...
Well, it will remain a mystery of computing, but normally the thing with non-dual motherboards is to put the largest one first to prevent the computer from filling the 64 first, then the other 64 (when we know XP already takes 160MB to run!) and then the 256... Well, we'll have to test it...

Ben the occurrence here is the diagram p 1-25 chapter 1 line with 384 M on the left at the very end and so no need to translate...

Well, the info is made of trials... That said, one of our contributors had a motto:
rule number 1: if everything is going well, don’t touch anything!
NORMALLY there shouldn’t be any problems...
So...
But other than that, you seem nice! If you filled out your profile and went to the café to introduce yourself, that would be cool (but maybe less informative! haha ;)

I will follow your advice, I love good steaks.
By the way, in section <29>, you give me the models of the bars, but at 100MHz.
I can't take 133MHz, wasn't I advised against it a long time ago?
My installed 256 is a 133MHz!

Do you have a Bit Defender suite with a firewall? Because it might be the firewall that's blocking downloads...

Hi again,
before your second message:
I was able to download: Gim Mode 2.2.11.c, but it took a long time and when I saw (89 MB) I uninstalled it immediately.
However, a message indicated that I had to manually uninstall the rest (at least about 15 lines: Gim......etc).
I immediately did a system restore when I got that.
And now, following the restore..., there was Google Earth on my desktop and I wanted to uninstall it, but another message:
setup.exe encountered a problem etc....so I hope I didn't mess things up, because it was just redone and I don't have the installation disk.
I'm thinking of restoring to before Google Earth and seeing what you think.
Thank you.

Yeah, you just had to go into the time of your downloader and delete The GIMP...
Uh, the system restore is for a big crash after all because it's something you shouldn't use too often... Plus, it erases everything you've written after creating the restore point...
What you do is reinstall Google Earth (it will find the old files)
then you check that everything works well and go to start/programs/accessories/system tools/system restore and there you create a restore point that you name...
And at the next restore (if it crashes), you'll have your Google Earth.
And proceed like this with every new program installed that you want to keep and that doesn't bug!!!
